Just some food for thought... On the Importance of Log Parsers
Wary
Fine with them in terms of "personal self-improvement". But there's always that group of "super elitists" who weaponize them to judge and berate and belittle everyone around them who isn't playing "up to their standards".
Also have seen players get so wrapped up in their own DPS that they forget they're not a one-man army, but are playing in coordination with a group. They can tend to ignore tanking/aggro mechanics and generally make life harder for everyone else because they're preoccupied with "big numbers".

None-All
If VR can guarantee that parsers cannot be made to parse out the data, then none else give it all to us.
The flaw with DPS meters is just that DPS, typically only one side is being tracked, unless you can analyze the cause and effect. I.e. a ranger might have been doing a great amount of damage and the enchanter almost zero damage. Well, the numbers might not tell you that the enchanter cast haste on the ranger and the enchanter was also keeping 3 mobs on ice. But this same encounter, the next day, the enchanter only has 2 mobs on ice and the mob has different characteristics, so now it is a different fight altogether.
In a stream I saw a developer was using a threat meter on how much threat was being generated, now that would be great to know! Or healing, etc. Give us all or nothing.
So advocates might say that they use the meters to fine-tune and/or create better rotations, and this is true. So, if VR can control parsing, then have practice dummies to help players fine-tune their equipment and rotations and friendly, helpful aids. But for true mob encounters, no data can be parsed. To me this is the best of all worlds.
Having 1 meter is not very useful and might not allow for the practice of better spell rotation to help the group overall, instead get the best dps at the expense of the group's overall killing ability could create selfish players that might not know their roles well.
Finally, by allowing a 1 side dps meter you open yourselves up to class comps, which could cause community whining because one class could be perceived to be op vs a like class.
Absolutely irredeemably worthless
Or, in a single word: !#%^#*!
I don't know if I've already replied to this thread or not. All of the "In One Word" threads are starting to mix together.
But in answering this question, I dislike them as an added QoL Feature in game. It hurts people who don't Min/Max their toons and are IMHO unneeded even as an allowable add-on.
