Keep telling yourself that. They'll run into the exact same problems EQ did, and ultimately they'll likely fix it in the same way that EQ did (using a form of instances to load-balance). Basically, if there are four main camps that support say 24-30 people, you simply create new instances of the same zone as needed and have players issue a command to load into them. So 8 instances support say 200 people. And so on. You could have hundreds of instances to balance out the load and handle the traffic.
And having multiple dungeons doesn't mean squat when you're likely to have *at least* 5-10K+ people on a server(and thats like small potatoes). Each and every dungeon will be packed and need to be load-balanced.
This isn't 1999, and their Bush League attitude is great... it will get an adjustment either before or after release when they get laughed out of town because people cannot access content because its all perma-dead.
Yeah, they're not gonna do that. It will be non-instanced and 100% in contention - is the expectation and promise. Will weaseling occur? Have we already heard it? I'm sure the engineers would prefer it.
People seem to forget BradCo went on to create Vanguard after EQ1, which essentially was EQ 2.0. Another non-instanced, 100% contested world with massive dungeons. But even in Vanguard, when SoE got their clutches into it was given six zone copies (poor mans instancing) of their end game raiding zone a year+ after public release.
Frankly, until I see a fully fleshed out large zone with hundreds of players having no lag in Pantheon I think all bets are off.
