Dark Myr cleric first, then probably a human Enchanter. Many more after that, no doubt, as I've always had alt-itis and I'll often create a new character when I a new concept I like comes to me.

    For myself:

Start with a rogue, likely human. I will also being trying out a darker type race with Dire Lord and certainly have an Elf enchanter. I miss locking down trains at zones while everyone works through killing everything. Hoping the enchanter has a form of AE mez like from EQ.

Probably tank. The specific class and race will depend on what I learn about faction.

Back up plan is a summoner-race undecided

    Back-up back-up plan is a gnome wizard

I think it'll depend on the race feels.  I'm going to PROBABLY play a healer (though tank or support is possible - the one thing I hate is DPSing...), but it will depend on how I feel about the races, and then what options are available.  I tend to play healer > tank ~= support > > >>>>>>> DPS.  So it'll kind of depend on that.  I tend to like shortish races myself (irl I'm 5'4", so I identify with "short" characters, and also like their perspective of the world...and that they fit through doors...)  So Halfling/Dwarf/Gnome are the most likely choices.  I'm not sure I like the real "natury" thing going on with Halflings, though.  Getting kind of a "lost boys" vibe more than "simple country folk" vibe.  More like Wood Elves, maybe?  I could also always end up being bland/boring Human.  XD

It will also depend on what I can tell from their cultures, and I also have this masachistic enjoyment of playing rare/uncommon class/race combinations.

    Taken together...

...I really have no idea what I'll play.  :)  I'm not sure which healing combination will be less common while also being a short race while also being a race that I enjoy the lore behind.  I may just end up a Dwarf Cleric (all teh healz!), though I could see Halfling Druid.  If I make a second character, it'd probably be a Gnome Enchanter or a Dwarf Paladin.  But I tend to take FOREVER to level, and tend to get really connected to my characters and prefer having one I can devote a lot of time to rather than an army of alts, so I'll probably stick with whatever I create first.  It'll have the most history in my mind, do the most events, collect items/achivements that are more limited time available (e.g. "Survivor of 2019's Fest of Neverending Stomachs"), first max level, etc.  So I'll probably be that.  And healing is the most natural to me.

...and the healer right now that looks the farthest away from DPSing seems to be Cleric, maybe?

So not really sure yet.  I'll have to see all the classes and such.

    So yeah!  No idea.  :)

Monk is the least inspiring of all the classes so far, so I'm taking a hard look at the other melees.
