There isn't a distance to group member listed for Hirode's Rescue. Maybe you can drop Verdanfire Tree and then target your group member and cast Hirode's Rescue and it will pull your group member from wher ever they're bound to the tree...kinda like a rez
I imagine it would have similar restrictions as the shaman spell "walk the ages" and went be able to cross zone lines.
I fancy the Druid, and will be playing one for certain. The Shaman and Cleric both interest me though.
I can't wait for a new stream with game play footage of new healers. Hint hint :D

I definitely think just by comparing the wording between the druid and shaman pets, that the druid pet won't actually attack, but instead provide buffs/debuffs.
As far as unique to the halfling I hadn't thought about that. But the wording does make it seem very "halfling" oriented. This is a good question.
I don't think it will be. The fox is way to essential in the druid to not be included for the other races. However, I could see the fox type effect being different for every race for druid. For instance, maybe the myr can get some aquatic amphibious type of creature, for both in water and out of water, that does the same thing as the fox, but with a different type of diety or god or w.e the fox is suppose to resemble.

I definitely assumed that's what he meant. Similar to eq1 beastlord pets. A different animal for each race would be cool.
