Travel option
There exists a creature. In this very old world.
That survives off of ground water, sunlight and the minerals from rock.
It is large, is rooted to stone indents in Rock outcroppings. The unseen part of it reaches deep into the stone like roots or fungi mycelium.
It is rare. Only one or two per continent.
It breeds by shooting it's spore seed with tremendous velocity to another of its kind far on the other continents.
(They sometimes fire straight up with glowing exploding seed to mark their location to others.)
The adventurers of the land have found that if they jump into the "pucker hole" (this fires the spore seed normally) they, the adventurer will be shot across to the other creature, thus allowing travel of great distances in a very short time.
But...
They miss the target about 1 out of 5 times.
So the impatient traveler has a 20% chance of going splat. If they do, they are bound to their landing location/zone loosing XP but have otherwise made the journey.
If they land in the pucker hole, they get disgorged through the anus at the bottom or where ever the creature aimed is tendril like lower digestive track. (Think elephant trunk but in reverse). Traveler has a stink of sulfur upon them for x amount of time increasing the cost of goods from all vendors.
