Well... Rogues don't have evac. That said, I stand up and own my mistakes.
Just apologize honestly. Use kids as excuse? Explain how you spilled on your keyboard and smashed buttons? Either you're forgiven by your group or not, but the game still rolls on, hopefully you make up for it with skill and people wanna keep you. Probably something dumb I'd accidentally do though. Another reason I grew to love the EQ community I knew people were mad at my mistakes, but they tried their best to be patient and understanding.

That's so stupid that vr would make us go to the forums to complain, the game should automatically know what it made us do wrong! It's just a simple bit of code!
(yes, joking)

I'd own up to it.
I'd say Kilsin was about to train us so I had no choice.
They would laugh. It's in the combat log, they know what happened and who did it.
Better to evac too soon or accidentally than not at all.
Heck, I've seen this happen and have done it myself a few times in EQ1 and EQ2.
Just means more XP fighting more mobs back to the same or another spot.

Well, after I pull my heart out of my throat and wipe away the tears, I apologize profusely and explain what happened, hoping we have enough time and desire to clear back down and actually keep the camp. If it's a group member who does it, I ROFLMAO and start clearing to get back down there.

Honestly my friends used to do this all the time to us, and honestly I find it funny most of the time, though it can be annoying and can make some ppl rage, but for testing most part I just take it as part of the game, I've even been evaced when they thought they were gating to there home point, it's just a game you go back and drive on lol.
lol @ blame the healer :D ( i am going to be a cleric )
"My cat stepped on the keyboard" ?
Just say sorry. tell them i'd be happy to leave if anyone is upset. then i would be super quiet in group chat the rest of the night... maybe if they don't see me, they will forget about it or somthin.
Well, its best to always own up to your mistakes.
I'm not claiming to be perfect, however, I personally have never made this kind of mistake accidentally. I would have read the spells and skills beforehand and made sure that I knew what I had in my spellbook, and on my hot bars before I started messing around with buffs and other spells/abilities.
I think one way to fix/prevent this issue is to pop up a box that states: XXXXXXXXX wishes to port you to XXXXXXXXXX would you like to accept [( YES ) ( NO )] for other players that are in the party. This prevents 5 other people from being trolled accidentally or otherwise. I think it should also pop a message for the player casting the port saying: Are you sure you wish to leave this area [ (YES) (NO)] just in case the player accidentally fat-fingered the spell.
I'm a huge advocate for player choice and player community. As such I don't like seeing developers inserting their hands in ways that place restrictions on player freedom/ community. However, in some situations such as this scenario, I think that it is best that the developers take certain preemptive measures to prevent abuse. The preemptive measure, in this case, is to simply have all players verify that this the action that they want to take. This measure promotes player choice, prevents trolling, and allows the caster to cancel their own evacuation in case it was an accidental cast.

I don't think this is a good idea for an evacuate spell. In the heat of battle, when everyone is just frantically clicking on their "panic" buttons to maybe save the day, I wouldn't want an extra popup blocking my sight/input.
For regular ports this might be a good addition. But even then it should be possible to toggle the question off.
After this thread, I might evac my group just for fun and yell into the mic: FOR OBI-WAN KILSOBI!

Own up to it "Opps, my bad" and head back in.
As for a "fix" I understand what your saying, and this would likely stop it from happening. But I hope the Devs DON'T do anything of the sort. I don't want my hand held, I WANT myself and others to be able to make a mistake or two. It's part of the game. And without it the game is just a little bit smaller with every "fix" they put in.
