I have not seen anything like this mentioned. As I said 3rd party programs that automate gameplay will absolutely be prohibited.
Programs that allow you to manually control 2 characters at once (imagine using 1 keyboard for 2 computers) should not be impacted since you are still sending every keystroke yourself and present for every action the character is taking. This type of policy has pretty much become the commonplace in mmos and theres not really any reason to change it.

Meant the ones that did the work for you, my bad, not the one that simply just helped you box your characters, my bad guess I should have been more specific even though I'm sure you knew what I meant anyway

I have myself have not seen anything about 3rd party programs running in the background. My thoughts is the person is using an out of system program that is giving that player an advantage, or some would say cheating. Other MMOs have ignored this cause it just means more subs for them. With VR being a new and trying to grow, will they allow these programs to let some.players cheat their game while other play it fairly?
It's not cheating though, plus if he content is hard enough you won't be able to do it, or at least fast enough, like look at WoW, it's a very easy game now days but yet rarely boxed, simply cuase the pace of the game makes it rough for the player to do all that work, yet games like eq where there isn't much movement, and long grind ND fairly simply fights most of the time and easily managed so therefore is plagued with boxers, so what VR I will is trying to achieve is to keep the game like the older genre but have mechanics that doesn't feel like your just standing there casting spell after spell and than sit back down til you have to cast another spell, and simply just doing this would eliminate a ton of players from boxing, especially if you have mobs the randomly select players and cast spells and such so you have to keep something on your toes as if your playing one character, this is what you need to stop boxing, not make it being punished by saying you can't do that, but by saying I bet you can't box this content.

Haha. Crazy thing is i didnt know what you meant because so many people don't know the difference between the two!
But I'm glad were on the same page

That's the same as saying an out of client log parser is cheating because its giving a player an unfair advantage. And no MMOs have ignored it. They've specifically stated that because you're still present at the keyboard sending the commands, it's not an issue.
But arguing is pointless. I'm sure Vr will give its official stance sooner or later.
Thread cleaned up (removed posts speaking in absolutes claiming it will be rampant in Pantheon, as you cannot say that based on experience in others games and will not know until you see it in Pantheon).
I'm going to close this down guys, Boxing has been discussed to death and our official stance has been made clear.
We will monitor it and step in if need be, but ultimately, we won't be trying to stop it unless it goes against the vision of the game and becomes a necessity or seen as the normal thing to do. Our game is a social one and boxing is a grey area, people do it for many different reasons (e.g. off-peak times, buffs, can't commit to a dungeon run with others due to a baby, work etc.).
We want it to be less efficient to box and we intend for it to be an alternative to keep you playing, rather than logging out if that is the ultimate choice. We don't want it to be the chosen method to play but as long as it doesn't impact our social and economic environment we will allow it.
There is no harm is logging in a backup healer to fill a group role after someone left your group stranded but we would like to see that alt/boxed account dropped as soon as a real person became available and we will work hard to balance the game accordingly.
