two quick questions

    Man what I great looking game, watched like 3 hours of streams and was hooked and pledged advisors.    I dont know if the streams I saw were outdated compared to whats in the pre alpha now but there were two things that seemed a bit annoying to me that would love to see fixed.

    1) When targeting a mob the con of the mob is included either by having the target window con teh same color of teh mob or maybe adding a circle around the target that shows the con?  I kept hearing people say to type "C" and that would be really slow especially if you had multiple mobs next to each other you had to con as a puller.

    2) I kep hearing the streamers who could buff ask who needed buffs in their group?  I looked but never saw a target window for groupmates that showed their buffs on them?  is there one in place so the buffers can see who needs buffs without asking as people will not know what bufs other classes have to know what to ask for initially?

    last is just a comment that show corpse toggle on off should be in game as seeing corpses all over the place clutters UI window and also debuffs on target showing right in middle of screen is gonna cause alot of clutter too, especially on raids when there will be loads of icons.  Hope there is a way to customise UI to move and enlarge/decrease the target window.

    Cant wait to get into Alpha and actually be on the inside to see..think I am just going to wander for hours taking in the scenery- so beautiful.

    I know neither answer, but welcome aboard. May the Gods of Terminus grant that alpha comes reasonably soon.

    Terminus is a magical place where the Gods answer all prayers. Of course, as on Earth, the amswer is usually "no".

    I would like to know more about how this is going to be done as well. I have heard the "C" button a few times and I hope it is not going to be needed. I would prefer my UI to just show important information like that without needing to hit a key. I prefer having my keys bound to other things like movement and abilities etc.

    I bet most of these 'concerns' will be addressed either by beta or during beta. As it mainly is just a UI element(s) thing.

     On point 2 I am not certain if this is to encourage a social element where players need to communicate which buffs they have and ask for rebuffs etc or if they simply haven't added that functionality yet. Both points 1 and 2 may be related to VR going for the oldschool MMORPG approach. VR is aiming to have a little less convenience and create a heavier need for teamwork/socialization. I wouldn't be upset if they left things as is in regards to considering and buffs...you're right that there are more convenient ways to present the info.

    With regards as to how "we" timed buffs in EQ you had two options. Typically you'd buff yourself first then the group so you would see the buff wear off of yourself then you'd know it was time to rebuff the group. The other option was to set a timer.

    After playing so many other MMO's where most of my screen space is taken up by information needed to maintain buffs, use abilities, party windows, and other things... I'm sort of looking forward to less on the screen.

    About the buffs im pritty sure its just UI that is missing at this point.

    from a quality of life Point of view i would be very sad not to see this in Pantheon :)
    it is just unnessesarry not to give players this information in my opinion.

    Have a great New years! Be safe, catch ya in 2019

    The con system worked great all you had to do was target something and press the C key. It would them prompt you in chat with a colored message. I don’t remember all of the messages but I remember the red con saying “What would you like your Tombstone to say”

    Green = Easy
    White = Even
    Blue = Formidable
    Yellow = Risky / Hard
    Red = Death

    In the early Eras of Everquest you did not have buff info on players you had to communicate with your group and ask for duration status and buff status. I believe that changes around Velios

    I think the points being made is that these 'colours' could be displayed on the target window itself instead of requiring you to press the c button and read your chat window to see the difficulty of the target. Perhaps the border of the target window could match the 'consider' colour.

    The other part of the 'consider' text is the faction information.

    In EQ there were 9 faction levels that gave different messages when you 'considered'

    Scowls at you ready to attack!        - Kill on Sight
    Glares at you threateningly!            - Almost always Kill on Sight
    Glowers at you dubiously.               - Will not trade with you.
    Looks your way apprehensively.      - Will Trade with you but bad prices. Will let you complete quests.
    Regards you indifferently.               - Neutral. Can Quest and Trade at basic prices.
    Judges you amiably.                       - Will give you a modest discount or pay better for items.
    Kindly considers you.                     - Gives you a medium discount.
    Looks upon you warmly.                 - Even higher discount. Could unlock extra quest rewards or follow up quests.
    Regards you as an ally.                  - Best discount. Could be required for exclusive quests.

    Since we have seen this same kind of text in the Pantheon streams, we can assume that at least some of these faction levels will be be part of the 'consider' system in Pantheon.

    This information could also be displayed on the Target window by adding an icon or symbol to designate which faction level you are at. For example:

    Crossed Swords icon = Scowls at you ready to attack!
    Single Sword icon = Glares at you threateningly!
    Frowny Face icon = Glowers at you Dubiously.
    Worried Face icon = Looks your way apprehensively
    etc...

    Obviously VR artists could come up with unique symbols or icons that fit with the world; but at a glance are easily recognizable as the faction info for your target without requiring you to read your chat text.

    I think that some of this is still being decided which is why we don't see a UI element for 'buffs' for other players yet. My guess is that they will probably have some sort of display for what buffs are on your groupmates or other players, but we will have to wait and see what level of info it shows. Like maybe they don't want to let you see the durations or something like that. Once they decide how much info we are allowed to see, then they will add the UI element that shows it

    This might be a nice quality of life, but at the same time VR may want to force you to see all these corpses as it creates a sense of dread when you enter an area and see a bunch of bodies lying around... could create feelings of 'What have I got myself into?'.

    In Everquest corpses had an 'eligible for ressurection' timer that was seperate from the 'corpse will decay' timer. Perhaps they can have a toggle that lets you hide corpses that are not eligible to be ressurected. Of course your own corpse should still be visible to you. Oh and keep visible any corpse you have been granted permission to 'drag', assuming Pantheon will continue to allow you to drag corpses.

    I'm pretty sure this is something that will be toggleable.

    From what they have said in several streams, they will have some basic UI modification right within the client. They have also said they are not against the idea of UI mods that you can download and install. But if they allow this, these will be basic UI modifications that just change the display of information, not 'addons' that allow you to see things or do things that the base UI doesn't allow.
