I'd say help spread the word about Pantheon. Alpha isn't that far away, and Beta will be right behind it. If you're watching streams and thinking "wow, I wish I could play now", think about all the people who haven't even seen that stream footage.
When I'm outside of this community I find that a lot of people have heard about Pantheon but they have this misconception that it's some kind of ultra-hardcore game or EQ relaunch. I think it's super important for all of us to go out there and talk about it not as a "successor" to anything else, but instead talk about how it's a game built around the idea of challenging gameplay and a lot of depth. Classes that really feel unique, content that's not on rails, choices that are meaningful at all levels, that sort of thing. Heck, just the fact that it's something with somewhat new ideas in a sea of games that all follow the same or similar formulas. Of course not everyone will be sold on that but the more people that we can all convince to give Pantheon a shot when it launches, the better.
Good question. Spreading the word to people that don't know about it is always good. But I think first and foremost, the most important thing is to educate yourself about the game the best you can. That way, when you have those discussions about Pantheon with people that you meet, you can more effectively tell them about it. Leaving them to do their own research is sometimes risky. Along those same lines, engage the community in a positive way, whether that be here on the forums, on Twitch, on Facebook, or in the YouTube comments section. Make newcomers feel welcome, answer any questions they may have, or at least point them in the right direction. Show people how outstanding of a community this is. Even just being active on Reddit or Discord and having healthy, constructive conversations about the game can help the community as a whole thrive. Though it may seem minor, those sorts of little interactions ultimately go a long way. Pantheon is founded on community, so integrating yourself into this community as much as possible is the best thing you can do. It also keeps you busy, which conveniently makes time seem to go by faster too :)
play EQ on Coirnav.
or WoW is still a fun game. i know people like to call it easy. let's watch those people on a Mythic + raids or 5 man. the new expansion is really fun.
i still hope Alpha won't start until they have a LOT more of the game up and running. Kingsreach should be 90% and Reignfall should be 60-70% done.
people in pre alpha playing those same 4 zones over and over and over and over and over are going to be sick of the game before it ever releases.
hard to promote a game that can't ballpark a YEAR that it might release.
i tell people about it, they say awesome when will it be out? i say umm 2-4 years? i get: .....o_o ...... crickets.....

I quit EQ after trying Ragefire server.
I am playing World of Warcraft. People can bash it all they want, WoW is a fun, Great game. Having tons of fun with BFA.
I'm doing my usual 5 mans-for-the-sake-of-it on Lights Hope (vanilla wow) and currently trying out EQReborn. Also there are a lot of single player games on my backlog. Dragon Quest XI released a couple of days ago, its a great game!
Other than that, I've been a Pantheon missionary to the point where my gaming friends have made it a running gag (they talk about a game and add: "but I will just wait for pantheon").
Pantheon-wise, I'm just doing what I can do - browse forums, read news releases, watch videos, etc. Awaiting actual alpha release.
Right now, however, I am feeling a deep sense of loss and homelessness. My primary game just released news of a shut down, and I'm not really sure what I'm going to do with myself (video game-wise). There isn't a single MMO out there that satisfies in the way WildStar does (be it in style, music, environment, raiding, housing, costuming, general combat, or whatever else). Currently taking lots of screenshots and preparing myself for the end. :(
I also left EQ definitively . Came back on 3 TLPs at release - Fippy , Ragefire , Agnarr . Had really fun in the good old places (Unrest, Guk , Kunark) but always left with Luclin release because Nexus and Bazaar transformed everything in ghost towns . This time when I left Agnarr , I knew that this was really the last time and I turned the EQ page .
Played a bit FF14 . Excellent storyline , very good gameplay (especially crafting) but I was max level on all crafters and my main after 4 months . And I hated the frantic clicking, jumping and hitting in every dungeon . Left it definitively too .
Finally there is only one game I like to go back to from time to time - Lotro . Lotro's atmosphere is true magics, the community is helpful and generally mature . It goes a long way to show that a serious world building has a huge added value for an MMORPG . And here we had a real Master in world building at work :) Unfortunatelly also here , 10 years later , the interesting and graphically magnificent regions and quests (Angmar, Moria , Eregion , Dol Guldur) are ghost towns as 99 % of the population is only playing at max level .
So finally my suggestion is to play some good old single player games . Skyrim , Dragon Age , RimWorld , Divinity Original Sin .

I just read the news, so sorry Naunet. Maybe find some single-player games that will ease the fantasy itch for a bit? Or there is always Fallout 76 that is coming in November. That might help the MMO withdrawal for a while.
FO76 beta in October if you pre-order.
I still play a ton of FO4. In 4K it's stunning. There are so many mods, you can almost reinvent the game.
P--n hub? Im trying to watch every video. Its kind of like leveling..
Here's what I posted elsewhere that I think belongs here as well, a post I just made about feedback and ideas coming from you guys who have never played the game and rather have a more limted and less direct experience watching streams, videos, screenshots, etc. Bottom line: 1. getting the word out and explaining to people unfamiliar with the type of combat Pantheon uses and 2. helping us figure out effective ways to communicate the excitement and intensity (and fun) that is both already present in the game and where we need to take things going forward. We definitely need both your help and your ideas on how to showcase the game effectively, especially to someone not already familiar with they style of combat we are both using and determined to take to the next level:
--------------------
Totally agree and very glad to have you on board and thinking on the same wavelength as we are. We have a lot to do still in terms of spreading the word and getting people excited, and then we must be able to do it again when the game is closer to launch (sometime during beta). Peaking the excitement twice, now for support, new ideas, you guys being part of the design process, and crowdfunding are all essential components of getting the Pantheon word out now. Then, like I said, there will be another push during beta in an attempt to really reach out to new people, especially younger gamers. We know that while combat is already engaging, tactical, exciting and fun, that it is more so for the actual player and that for people watching a stream, the excitement, intensity and tactical nature isn't as apparent -- it's always harder to convey something visually without the viewer being actually hands on. But I think we're up to the challenge and that combat now is already much more exciting to watch than it used to be. And that's just now -- we will continue to keep all of this in mind, that it's not just great gameplay, but that showcasing combat to people watching, say, a twitch stream is both very important and also easier said than done.
That said, we're thinking hard on it, discussing ways to make it look more exciting, that it must appear that we are taking things to a new/next level, not just doing it in-game. Ultimately it's how the game plays and we are making big strides each pre-alpha milestone. But it's almost just as important to appear exciting, intense, tactical, challenging when a person is watching a stream and not actually playing. So expect things to continue to get better in both regards.
Lastly, always looking for feedback from the community in terms of how we can both make combat better *and* make watching combat more intriguing. Definitely looking for ideas, guidelines, strategies, etc. from the community, listening to you all who are looking from the outside in and not just what people actually experience before they play the game themselves.
Anyway, good stuff, and PA4 has already started development and what I talk about above is a huge priority. Please give us great feedback in terms of ideas and presentation as well, especially since most people are watching streams, movies, screenshots and not actually playing and that massive amounts of testers won't happen until alpha and especially beta. Between now and then we have to make an effort together to properly and in a compelling manner insure that Pantheon doesn't just look great but plays great, that Pantheon isn't just a lot of fun as a core MMO, but that we've a ton of ideas on how to take things to a new level, build new concepts and tactics on top of a proven foundation, and then showcase all of this convincingly to a person who is new to the game, or who may have some concerns with the combat style we've chosen, etc.
thanks in advance!
