One thing I have noticed over the years in MMOs is the lack of backbone for game companies to actually remove/ban players found to be essentially cheating, exploiting and otherwise breaking the game.
Nobody seems to understand the rationale for allowing those players that exploited some quest bug to get 1000000X more XP than they should have retain that gain, and worse continue to remain in the game.
Or the dupers that made 1000's of copies of that ultra rare harvestable resource worth millions of Plat., and blew up the economy.
Typically on a new patch, or update, even on release there are some horrendous bugs that players knew about and kept secret. Only to use to their advantage on release. And on some occasions a bug that players found by accident and exploited for massive gains.
Instead of banning and removing all aspects and ill gotten gains from said events, game companies do nothing to the players, and simply live with the issue. Eventually getting around to a fix.
I saw this recently on a horrendous scale with the release of Bless. It happened in BDO, AA hacking and exploiting was rampant, it even happened in Vanguard with duping and broken quest exploits.
Granted it can be a lot of work to fix/clean up these issues. But just ignoring players that are essentially massive douches, and allowing them to keep their ill gotten gains is worse. It makes the company now complicit and frankly makes players want to dump their game. And in some cases that is exactly what happens. Player have fled Bless in huge numbers, most to never return.
Many vanguard players quit outright in the start with how broken the game was. Most never returned to it either.
Troubles in the early release of a game, specifically an MMO can be a dagger to the heart, and taint it forever.
We have internal policies on a lot of things, Zew, many of which cannot be shared publically yet or at all as I am sure you would understand due to your experience in the industry. We have a few policies in regards to in-game behaviour and when we get around to officially launching the game they may be published but there is a good chance that they will remain internal only for VR staff to go by.
I am also going to close this because we already have a thread on this subject asking the exact same thing: https://www.pantheonmmo.com/content/forums/topic/3220/play-nice-policy
