Search found nothing on spawns, could be in a closed group.
I am referring to brads statement from the Pax, Shards will be different changing the way spawns etc could impact the server.
Now does that mean a standard core game spawn of a boss mob be randomized? or possibe changed due to the shard or is this completely unknown to us at this point.
1. Will it be like the weather? where it can randomize spawn durning the day, or simply that week like the weather system in Unity?
2. Will the spawns change locations in that zone, world area or would they be pera spawned in the existing locations like we had in Kunark, vellious.
I am asking now, maybe baz has this info for us, this had to been asked before, i just cant find it.
See i have not seen a system like the weather, so if we did a dungeon crawl it would be possible to have the boss mob change to 25 different locations and pop anywhere in the zone. So if you where in that area fighting normal mobs it is possible the area could have the boss pop anytime, anywhere.
There would be no control from the players then. You could not count on a player driven system like spawn camping... comes to mind.
It also is based on devs time frames, since the weather system took so long to do. But it makes for an interesting idea to have it so random nobody knows... much like Cazic death touch system HAHAHA
There are a few possibilities that could play out. Once all the base systems are fleshed out they can tinker with some of the spawning mechanics. Add AI to weather patterns or time of day so that a mob will have a higher spawn rate during an event. Have druids call the rain at night so that you get better chance of a theif boss that doesnt want to be seen showing up. Stuff like that.
We won't really know until things develop further. I am excited to see some of the dynamic content that develops.
I thought the weather system was still under development and not ready for full deployment. I can see that mechanic being completely random in locations around the world/zones.
The spawns I think can be done the same way, but I think the continuity of the zone can be affected so design and layout has to be considered. Still it would create an interesting dynamic to the zones.
I have not seen any information on either of these topics from some of the sources that were at PAX. We shall see.
