PRF APP / LFG

    Hi All,

So we all know that PRF will be slower paced than many other MMORPGs. Thinking back to EQ times, one of the frustrations I had were logging on and being LFG for an extremely long time due to full parties or just wrong trinity ratios at certain parts of the world so I might not make any progress that night.

A suggestion I have is some type of PRF APP where we're able to log in to the game to communicate and perhaps have pre-made(pending) groups or view other(maybe guildmate?) profiles, we can list our normal log in times and things and sort of plan groups before even getting home. This is just a quick idea I thought up, I haven't really hashed out many details, but I can see a lot of possibilities with an app that lets you log in with your phone when you're not at home. Because the game runs at a generally slower pace, I think we all want to make the best of our X hour sessions.

Who knows, maybe we can even do small things like sort our inventories while we're not at home to prepare to play when we finally log in.

Anyway, hoping to get some great ideas here. Let me know what you all think.

As Philo linked, this has come up several times before, with mixed responses. It's likely not something they'll pursue for a while, if at all. However, the real solution though that VR is already working on mitigates that problem from the source. That is, there's no need to require players to stand around LFG for a long time. They realize that it's just not fun and a lot of people don't have time for that. Part of the solution is making it so that you don't need an exact group composition before adventuring. But also putting as many (in-game) tools as possible in the players' hands to find groups and help keep them together. From the FAQ:

4.3 Will Pantheon require me to play for hours and hours or all night and all day to advance my character?

No. While the world of Terminus will consist of vast landscapes and epic dungeons, there is no reason to require players to play long, contiguous gaming sessions. Players will be able to play a couple of hours, logout, and return later to continue their journey. There will also be mechanics and features to both help people get together and group and also to make lasting friendships. To further facilitate this there will also be ways for players to keep their group together even if some members of the group can play longer than others or at different times.

In addition to Philo's threads above, I'll also add this one for Champions+: https://www.pantheonmmo.com/content/forums/topic/2604/mobile-application
