I was wondering about Whitethaw and when we'll see it. There is more map to reveal, The Frozen Sanctum its there. During the Deicide War the Ravaging Lord split his army into three to attack "each continent of the sacred six" It was the Dwarves and Archai who retreated to the Frozen Sanctum to survive. Both appear to be cold climate races. So it would make sense that their starting areas would be there.
When do y'all think that'll be revealed?
And while I'm on the subject where is Sathe and Olem's Hill? The lore says far east but it's not on the atlas that I see.
Edit: I erased all the irrelevant info that was here before I came to the conclusion of all the races and their starting cities.
No idea when the other continent will be revealed but thank you for bringing this up Malsirian. It made me compare some of the info in the lore to the atlas. I learned a few things. Maybe Olem's Hill and Sathe are in eastern Whitethaw?
The starting cities we know:
Wilds End=Halflings
Skargul=Skar
Syronai's Rest=Myr
Thronefast=Human
Faerthale=Elves
Broken Maw=Ogre
On the Whitethaw continent to the north =Gnomes/Archai/Dwarves
Seems to work out. I think that should be correct. Anyone see any I mixed up?
We've decided that there will be nine playable races to start out with and three starting cities on three separate continents.

With the starting cities, that's what is thinking too. I suppose the gnomes could really be anywhere since its a floating city but my take is that even though it's floating its stationary so it would make sense that it's also in Whitethaw to even out the starting areas.
Olem's Hill and Sarthe are either there, not marked on Reignfall, or are known by a different name now. Reignfall was known by something else at the time the Ravaging Lord attacked.
Edit: just realized the gnome lore says they are in Whitethaw.
I agree that we will see at least the Dwarves and Archai areas on Whitemaw as we get closer to launch.
There are many little allusions like this throughout the text. It seems I pick up on a couple more with each read. One I just recently noticed:
"According to the Ogres, he enticed the hounds of Wos Che to assault Broken Maw from the north, while a Revenant force marched up from the desert of Khaga in the south (the Wos Che vehemently refutes this account, which became the initiator of the Seventh and Twelfth War between the two nations)."
The obvious question is who are the Wos Che? The text states that their alleged assault on Broken Maw came from the North, though the map currently doesn't expressly denote this kingdom (perhaps Valley of the Watchmen?). It's clear that the Wos Che and the Ogres don't get along as they have had at least twelve wars. I’m wondering if we’re going to get more information on these conflicts and if the ramifications will be felt in game. Very interesting.
Good question! There's that little tentacle-y thing just to the NW of Broken Maw but it doesn't seem very hound-like.
There are allusions to other races on the world that I want to hear more about as well. On Kingsreach the Elves and Humans were aided by "Mos Cag warriors and the Elvonnen Giants, as well as the enigmatic assassins of the Red Raven" in their fight against Ossari. Assassins of the Red Raven?? What's that now?? =)

Yup, that one caught my attention as well. Really looking forward to getting some more lore and and working to piece some of these questions together. Ultimately, as The Keeper makes mention, the questions are often more intriguing than the answers ;)
