The sacrifice of Lyone....

The Maidyn Clan are described as "Seeking to honor the sacrifice of Lyone,..."

But I thought Lyone survived her encounter with Molsth.  Perhaps we haven't heard the whole story? Although cursed with a maximum adolescent appearance, Lyone was truly still young when she sought out Molsth.

Perhaps something happened when he lost?  Perhaps her encounter with him somehow harmed her?

All conjecture here, or corse we dont know a ton...

In kickstarter, the Halflings had an interesting story arc. The story is probably outdated, but maybe the essence survives.

[the wood elf] gods ascended a Halfling champion into their divine circle

This "ascended champion" seems to be the sole member of the Halflings pantheon.  And why not? halflings use the forest and its surroundings to survive, why would the need a god?

It is my belief that Lyone is the one and only "Ascended champion", In becoming ascended, you must probably sacrifice yourself (since descension changes gods, perhaps ascension changed life forms), hence the maidyn clan could be *fingers crossed* the essence of the celestials for the halflings and *maybe* hint toward clerics and crusaders! *fingers still crossed*

The only other alternative I can discern from the story is that perhaps the answer to her riddle was for Molsth to allow her to survive their encounter, and when he killed her, it signaled his failure and sealed their agreement.

    Again... conjecture... until alpha!

I had not seen the old published lore.  I love that angle of elven intervention....or, rather, ascension.

The more I stew on this the more affinity I am developing for Lyone......very Tunare-ish to me

(btw this is serious stuff to hardcore players who want the lore background - killing off Tunare in EQN lore created a revolt and I think was a harbinger of disloyalty by fans.  SO we lore-players are NUTS about this stuff!

I agree!  There are so many arcs in play here it should give those of us a ton to chew on!
