Melee or Magic?

I've always preferred magic. I've always played either a druid or healer as main, but I also like Ranger if it's done right, and mages. I could never get into playing a tank, or even worse a stealth class that relies on back hits. That's just me though.

Although I prefer magic, I do like to get up close and personal from time to time.  Originally, I was thinking about making an enchanter, but now the more and more I think of it, and think of how much I miss my Iksar Shaman, I'm thinking of actually rolling a Shaman.  This class, at least in EQ, allowed me the versatility of lobbing spells and going melee.

I have always played a caster, usually elf.  In pantheon I am looking to go melee all the way.

My first character will be a shaman. If it's like the original EQ, then we all know what that was like.

Of course, I will create a few other characters--melee, caster, hybrid--to reserve the names and play when I feel like it.

Magic is the only way for me to go. I get more enjoyment out of playing casters and like that I can typically switch up my rotations and test things out more or just try something different versus my experience playing melee. I pretty much always play a pet class/EQ mage type and I hope the summoner is similar, but if not, I'll stick to caster and likely go shaman or druid.

Totally depends on how the classes feel and play in the particular MMORPG.  In EQ I played a cleric mostly, but it was frustrating when I got stuck purely healing and looking at my mana bar in some dungeons.  Would have liked a bit more scope.

To be honest I'm pretty sure I'll end up with multiple alts whatever happens in Pantheon!

With a system that values and needs each of the holy quartet I'm sure each role (and those in-between) will be satisfying.

Healer of some form, it'll really depend on how things look but I'll probably go with a Cleric or Druid.  I'll likely have an alt or 2 that include a Monk and an Enchanter though.

Melee hybrid.  In EQ1 I played shadow knight and I loved it.  I like pulling, tanking, and melee dps.  If I'm healing anyone it should be a side effect of sucking the life out of the bad guy.

My first MMO experience was playing a warrior in EQ.   My 2nd character was an Enchanter and I've pretty much always preferred caster types since.

    Magic.  Always.

The only others I ever played was a rogue (and specialized in MP) and Pally.

But Enchanter/Mage/Druid are the "only" classes for me.

    SKs were amazing.

I'm always either a tank or a wizard. I like being the guy up front taking a beating to protect everyone else or the guy in the back dishing out sick damaged with magic.

Primarily play a healer so I am going with magic, but I do love tanking too so its really hard to pick either one.

Drop bombs from a distance > melee for me.  I always tend to either play casters or a pure melee tank.

It's a hard tossup for me, in vanguard i played a dread knight, had lots of fun doing it but I also like the ideas of the cleric, so to start ill probably be going

with a dwarf cleric and then have a tank type alt :P ..

Druid and pally for me. I've tried a variety of other classes in other games, but I always came back to these two (provided they were in the game, that is.)

I'm planning on trying out other classes in Pantheon too, though. And I can't wait!

This is a tough one.  I'm a healer at heart so I've pretty much always have a healer as my main; a Shaman or a Cleric (because they are the best healers), depending on what is needed/how I feel at the moment I roll.  I'd say that traditionally, for my main, I've always been mostly melee based with a little ranged thrown in, depending on the game and the guild.

Once I get my healer established, my 1st alt (which I tend to play a lot) is almost always strictly DPS.  I very much enjoy that side of game play as well...not having to worry about your tank (other than making sure you don't pull aggro) and just getting to nuke the crud out of mobs.   There is something very liberating about that.  It can be fun to be on the top of the dps list..

So, I guess, I just really don't know.  Am I a fan of melee or ranged?  Both.  And, depending on how things pan out with my friends/guild at launch, it's all up in the air.  I suppose I could do anything.  I may have to try a few classes before I settle on a main in Pantheon.

Enchanters are fun, right?  And rangers?  What about summoners or dire lords?  They all sound fun to me.

I have no idea what might draw me in Pantheon.  I'm looking forward to finding out, though.  :)

My main is going to be a Cleric, so Magic it is! However, my first alt will be a Warrior.
