    Can't be good

Based on the OP and the news linked, I think a more appropriate title of this thread should be "EQN closes it's Lore and General Discussion subforums."  instead of "EQN on Pause."

Now, Zandil They have said in the past : "EverQuest Next and Landmark are games that involve lots of *very* large plans, so please bear with us as we take the time to review and reorganize the schedules." but that was a month ago.  source: https://forums.station.sony.com/everquestnext/index.php?threads/quick-update-from-senior-producer-terry-fairan-michaels.1166/ ; So I am not saying you are right or wrong on your feelings. We are seeing a lot of reorganization currently, but all that article links is just some news on how they closed some subforums and are re-directing people to post on reddit.

I am sorry, but I felt obligated to clear up this thread because I saw it and was like "What???"  :)  Thank you for linking that article  as I do stay as informed  as I can.

As always, the opinion expressed above are mine alone and are not representative of the views of Daybreak Games.

They did the same thing on some of their other game forums as well, EQ had a bunch forums axed.  I don't think it signifies anything beyond an attempt to streamline the forums to make them more manageable for their now smaller customer relations teams.  I don't see this as one of the seven signs that the end of EQN days are upon us.........

Seems like daybreak is cleaning up the way stuff works there. Instead of it being a " lackadaisical" environment they are actually running it like a business now.  Good for them.

I have been expecting that they will be removing the "SOE" from their HTML address soon as well, so trimming and cutting some forum fat would help in the transition i would think.

Tomorrow is a pretty big day in many ways. EQ turns 16 years old.

And waxing nostalgic, leaves many looking forward, to who/what is the spiritual successor to EverQuest Franchise...  (EQ3, or EQ4)

As far as I am concerned SoE has stagnated, and it needs to shake things up to get the creative flare back.  The layoffs were a good thing, I hate people losing their job as much as the next person, however it was needed and badly.  IN a few months after the transition is dopne, Smed shoudl walk away as well.

They need to shake off the ole SoE and begin anew.  I see this as just part of the transition.
