Not sure if they will add lore books that u can purchase or even download, but for now all the lore that they are pumping out is located on another site
http://www.thekeepersvault.com
There u can see what has been added so far, there is some background on the races and zones.

I'd love to see books with lore and background information about the races and areas and the history of a place in the game. (In-game) libraries rock :)
I wouldn't be surprised to find one such place, or more. ;)
Lore makes games more interesting and personal for me, WoW lore was great and they have dozens of novels and previous games. Just thousands of years of conflict and culture and a pantheon of gods and elemental titans beneath the earth really enrich the whole experience to a new level and makes the world seem bigger and gives a sense of endless adventure like there are infinite possibilities and dark corners of the world with a story yet to be discovered.

I think that's one of my favorite aspects of story, lore and the like: no matter what you've accomplished, read or discovered, the bigness still remains. There is still more you don't know, or an "infinite" that has yet to occur. Vastness in a world, carefully constructed, is akin to the real-life feeling when you peer off the edge of a very tall cliff.
Yeah like whispers of legends and mysterious rumors leaves room for the imagination and a sense of trepidation
EQ was my first online Mmolrpg, and it was dripping lore. I started from launch, and I read all the lore I could find: in the small books included in the game box, to whatever was on the site.
Listening to the Npc's in the cities and along the roads was a great way to sop up the lore of the world also. It was immersion in a real and wonderful way.
I won't be suprized if we find much the same in this world. I hope.
