Need a Tidbit

We seem to be spending most of our time in off topic, could we get a tidbit from the Team ?  Just a scrap to give us something to talk about and discuss ?

I support this statement! Anything will do, I'm not picky.  :)

A topic for them to post on:  Whatever it is they will be doing NEXT (as opposed to now).

So for example:  "Hey guys, next on our agenda is creating Wandidar's forest.  The dangers in this zone include things like rangers killing you by tripping when you walk past and accidentally stabbing you. - What sorts of things about this topic interest you?"

We understand that you are excited and waiting for information, almost as excited as we are to get it out to you but please be patient guys, we have not forgotten, we did state during the Dev Round Table that things would slow down for a short time (information wise) while we work on some bigger projects within Pantheon and we are in the middle of some pretty cool things at the moment.

We have been working hard over the last few weeks and we have made some good progress on a few different mechanics but we are waiting until they are ready before we post them, as anything we post can be viewed by the public and also potential investors, so this is an important time for us and we want to make sure that anything we release is going to be of the standard that will satisfy everyone, including you guys.

We have also been putting a lot of effort into gaining investment lately and currently Brad and Chris are at the DICE conference in Vegas for that very reason, so lets wait until they get back and then we will review our progress and see what we can update you on.

I just wanted to mention also that this is a very long process too (as in years) and there will be some weeks where we have nothing new to post because the team are working away on some of the bigger features like questing, weather, combat etc and there may not be enough information to release anything but please know that while there may be quiet periods that we are using them to get a lot of work done so we can have something new to show you all as soon as it's ready!

There is nothing wrong with having some fun in Off Topic while you patiently wait for more information and I have seen some really good discussions in General and Apprentice Developers that we have been watching ;)

    @Kilsin

This is why there needs to be the checklist created like Reht linked in the meaningful update thread. So, during the downtime, people can review what has been completed, what is currently being worked on, and what will be in the future to avoid this question being repeated endlessly.

Just a reminder too mate that we are still open for questions that will be answered in our next Dev Round Table but no one is posting anything in that thread, which leads us to believe that you don't want answers or any information from us lol ;)

Hahaha if it was one of "those" trips I would be yelling for them to take me too! lol :P

I am hearing very positive things from the trip though so we will have to wait and see but the team has been working really hard and the latest internal build is looking amazing, video doesn't do it justice!

I had posted a second question about the 3 starting cities with ports for the next roundtable, but I have plenty of others if no one else is volunteering :).

We have been watching that thread mate and I personally like what Mark Jacobs is doing with Camelot Unchained and that path suits his game well, we are almost at the same stage and when we get there, we will have a similar system in place for updates but until then, we need to remain focussed on our own game until we are at a stage where we can continually build on updates, currently we are just a bit before that stage and working hard to have a solid platform to show off and build upon.

You must remember we are a lot smaller than your average company/Dev team and working remotely, not from a local office where we can just pop our heads into the next room as ask questions or troubleshoot, it is all done remotely with a small but very dedicated team scattered all over the world, so it may take us a bit longer to get to that point in time where we are able to show updates like that but we will get there.

Please don't let that deter you though, we may be small but we are just as dedicated and hard working as anyone else in the industry and the team have produced some amazing things in such a short amount time.

As I said though, we are currently going through a very important phase internally and we need to make sure we focus on it properly, so the updates may continue to be slow for another week or so but we will get something out to you guys shortly.

We are just waiting for Brad and Chris to get back from the DICE conference and we will have a meeting to catch up and all get on the same level then go from there.

In the meantime, please feel free to continue adding to the Dev Round Table questions for the next one!

I was blown away with Amber Faet, that place is friggin huge, I have never felt so immersed and been so lost in any dungeon in my gaming life lol

I had to use Dev hacks to cheat and get around! ;)

The team are doing amazing things and I cannot wait to release some of that to you guys, it won;t be long I promise!

Not quite what I was saying though.

What I'm saying is that along with whatever we as a community might come up with to talk about, you guys could sort of direct conversation toward whatever the next relevant (or at least a future relevant) topic might be.  Sort of "direct the ramblings of the forum" sort of thing.

Better example than I gave - somewhere way down the line when you guys are discussing something like death penalties... a directed conversation on death penalties...

    That sort of thing :)

Oh I understood what you were saying mate, I just put a light hearted dig in there for the general public that the thread we use to gather feedback has 2 questions from the last Dev Round Table, I didn't mean it to seem like I directed that at you :P

We currently do not have anything that we need direct specific feedback on but we are getting closer to that point and when we do need it, we will post it so everyone can help us and have their say but in the meantime any questions that you do want information on, please post away in the Dev Round Table thread so we can address them and give as much information as possible until we are ready for specific feedback.

I'm sure I could put a billion questions on that thread -  I might be over stating that by a million or so.  :)

Can I ask Kilsin if you were following the other thread why did you not drop a comment on us? I completely understand that the teams is busy but I think as a community we are trying to grasp how to be a constructive community. As you have said, and I postulated the same thing on the open the forums thread, there is just not a lot to critique in the game yet but we still are trying to find ways to contribute. I threw a couple ideas out there and you already responded to the list concept but having an idea if our suggestions are constructive or not would be nice.

Please don't take my silence as ignoring anyone or any topics mate, I just don't have the answers yet and I am not sure my encouraging idea's would help in this situation as we are still working through this ourselves and I don't know if any of those suggestions will be a good fit for us, this is something we need to discuss internally so I can get a better understanding of what we want to do as a company going forward, once I get a better understand and have an idea of how to address the subject I would happily join in and help direct the flow of discussion so we can gather important feedback from you all.

In saying that though, I have passed the thread link on to other team members when it was first created and when we get a chance, we will discuss in more detail but we are just not at a point where this needs to take front seat on our list of things to do yet as we knuckle down and work on some important internal tasks.

I try my best to participate in as many idea's and threads as possible to show you guys and girls that I have my finger on the pulse and that I am in touch with our community but some things I will sit back on and wait until I know what I am talking about or have the answers to some of the questions before I join in, instead of just posting for the sake of it but please don't take that as a sign of not caring or ignoring, it is far from that.

I promise you mate, once I know the direction we want to take I will jump in and help steer the discussion towards what we have in mind to get feedback from you all :)

I wasn't trying to suggest you weren't participating enough or anything like that. I understand how busy everyone is and that answers don't come quickly. I think a big part of it is as you say the overall direction of the company and how funding will work and things like that.
