  Tea is actually an herb not a vegetable, so why do we have to farm wild vegetables to get tea rather than get it from wild herbs?

  Probably for the same reason the model for the vegetable node is a cabbage, and yet you will never loot any cabbage from it. while Annie Rae (Provisioner) seems to have an infinite supply.

  Obviously, something very nefarious going on with the "vegetables" in this game!

  You're right, of course. But consider... 

  Would you prefer your MMO to be built by a lifelong farmer, with an encyclopedic knowledge of plants and agriculture or a devoted Gamer & Crafter who gets their food from stores and spends all their time behind the screen?
