I am enjoying the rogue class. I usually play rogues in MMOs, and so far, I have found this version of the rogue quite enjoyable. Sure, some of the skills make no sense and never make it on my hot button bar, but those that I use are pretty useful. I like the fact that we aren't limited to daggers only, and have a heavy hitting skill (waylay) to offset not being able to backstab from frontal arcs (makes sense). I like that we have to prepare in a group setting, deciding which skill to use to help casters out, what debuff we want to use on the mob, etc. There is teamwork and synergy that the rogue brings to the table. The group I run with has a lot of openers usually loaded (off-balance, expose, open gap), which means that I don't need to do it consistently now, so I can load up on bleeds and poison dots (2 bleeds, 2 poison dots) on a mob. Sometimes it is just 4 of us, with me being the only DPS in the group, and we take on elite group mobs near our level with little issue.
The thing that people seem to ignore is that this is not a solo game. Sure, there are a couple of classes that can do so, but this game was meant to be a group game, to work together as a team to progress. I enjoy this aspect. I play MMOs for the purpose of grouping, making friends, and working together.
I give kudos to VR for making the rogue like they did. It isn't as simple as putting some hot buttons on your bar and face rolling your way through content. You actually have to think and work with others to be as effective as you can be playing the rogue, and most other classes.
