  Hi,
  
  I made an alchemist before the crafting profession included basic smelting. I remember doing the quest to get that skill but when I go to the smelter, I see no recipes.
  
  I found the schematics for Asherite smelting on a merchant but not the caspilrite one.
  
  
  
  Any ideas on how I can find it?

  It defaults to asherite.  Replace it with Capilrite in the smelter and it will work.
