What are the top three things you'd like to see in the game?
Mine are:
1) Shared Bank (so I can transfer stuff between alts)
2) Night vision / Dedicated Torch slot (so I can tank with shield / use 2h weapons at night)
3) purchasable recipes for higher level base armor
... and a round of applause for the devs
Belkidorestin
1) Some sort of way to know what the heck you're doing. There is very little direction. Everything looks the same, and since there's no map it's hard to retrace your steps.
2) Prevent Killstealing. Folks are just plain enjoying this one. The first KS and I was out. I don't care how "good" your game is, if you feed the trolls then trolls are all you will have and the game will fail. Period. I've played enough of these games to know what works and what doesn't. If you want KSing and griefing, set up a PVP server and let them have it. I just want to game, adventure, see what I can do on my own and group the rest. At least there's an LFG tool....
3) Pick up the pace. Like, I got stuff to do. Don't believe me? I'll wait, just like I did with OG Vanguard. Seriously, exp is a snails pace, and CR's at lvl 5? Yeah, hate to tell you but even original EQ got rid of Corpses runs in the EQ traditional sense. Why? Because they suck and it puts people in a bad mood, and then they take it out on their group mates, and their guildmates, and then they rage quit, and then you're out a healer/tank/enchanter because there's a good chance it's gonna be one of those three. That what you want? I hope you find your audience because this guy isn't it.
Seriously guys, this game plays like slow molasses and is BORING. And I play Brighter Shores, a very, VERY laid back MMO that is still in early development, and is more exciting grinding there than it is here. They get you into things right away. Mobs level up in the same zones so every leveling zone is populated regardless of newbie or veteran. And they have a MAP! And their Quests direct you on what to do and how to use the game mechanics. This game does not.
Take it as criticism, take it as me blowing off steam, take it as a warning from somone who's been down this road with many of you devs before....you got a game to fix.
And before anyone says "early access", this game has been in development for YEARS. It looks great, but plays like any other standard MMO, just slower. Did you guys test this game for fun at all? With folks who might be "new" players? Because all us original EQ and Vanguard dudes are dying, you know that right? We're all in our late 40's to 70's. If you want classic EQ, your demographic is gonna decrease each year. You either have broader appeal, or you die on the vine. Every basic business person knows that. Set up different server types, whatever. But you got one chance at this and right now I don't think it's going well.
I don't really have a top three at this time because a lot of the things have yet to be introduced, but I about completely disagree with bemolian up there, if you want a game that caters to the rush to end game and start raiding, click continue to try again in a nice safe cartoon dungeon mentality you're trying to push I'd suggest to you that many of those already exist, and let's let Pantheon be Pantheon and different from those.
I like that Corpse runs are a thing, it encourages learning, discourages selfish behavior in a group setting, and you can really tell a good group from the type you're concerned with. In fact, this type of mentality is quite often THE type which leads to corpse runs in the first place; impatience. So chill, enjoy, and let Pantheon be Pantheon. Rest assured, you'll learn, and if you can't, you'll come to the forums, or discord or whatever and demand that the WHOLE GAME be changed to suit YOUR playstyle, which will ruin it's individuality and start to degrade the things that make this special.
Let Pantheon Pantheon and have a great day!
They used to say the exact same thing in Vanguard, and Sigil didn't listen. And look where it got them. But hey, what do I know? I was only there for Vanguard at day one. I pledged as soon as I could to this game, about what, ten years ago? So don't get on me about supporting these guys or not. It's been years, and the best they have is a game that moves at a snail pace? Sure might keep the old crowd, but good luck with the newer generations who are going to be playing your game for the next 20 years. If I want THAT old school? EverQuest is still running with new expacs too.
And before I get off the topic of corpse runs, CR's were never as nasty as they are in Pantheon. Why? Because they knew it was a feature folks hated in EverQuest. You want to know why folks ran to WoW? Because the game devs during the beta test listened to folks like me tell them everything I loved about the game and everything I hated about it. Trying to do the same here. Judging by the reviews on steam it's mixed. So VR, I'm just being blunt, you have some decisions to make on how you can find a balance of old school and new school. Because right now this thing is so old school it needs a pacemaker.
Hmm...
1. EQ has managed to revamp graphics in certain zones. Even old ones like Commonlands and such. One of my requests/wishes would be that after or while the game is being worked on, a different graphics could be worked on behind the scenes now when the pressure to get the game out with such graphics is not there, maybe, in slowmotion it could be worked on anyway. It's probably impossible, but, it's still an interest of mine.
2. The crafting system is very basic. It's more like add ingredients, click combine, wait, wait, wait and Done. You have crafted something. I would like something in the way of what Vanguard had or a mix, maybe something combined with SWG or even EQ2. Something uníque!
3. This one is very current and a very frustrating thing. When I am at the bank, and, I have to move stuff over to the bank, to a stack that is already there. When I right click on said item in my inventory it should move over to the bank and automatically stack with the stack of item that is already existing in there. That would save an insane amount of time, and sanity, lol.
That's it...
Sorry to be off topic, but
" CR's were never as nasty as they are in Pantheon "
What??
Edit for:
What??
1: Itemization. More loot, more gear to craft. Everyone just looks brown. Lets get some caster looking stuff in and some cool armors and stuff like that.
2: More zone content. More mobs, more quests, adding to all the half finished areas around.
3: Torches. Right now I use my two-hander during the day, but switch to two-hander and torch when the night starts... I never used my shield yet, it just lies ready in my inventory...

Thanks for your understanding.
1) Fast forward 2 years to release.
2) Teleportation
3) My 2 weeks of vacation approved right on release date.
3a) Since I'm only allowed three, we will count this under vacation. A steady diet of diet coke for the caffeine and a mail slot in my study door for the wife to throw food and snacks through.
1) Shared bank - This is a convenience that should be allowed. It's a Customer Support mitigation issue, tickets will happen whether they acknowledge them or not because people are going to be scammed. We don't actually need a social aspect to managing our own loot, some privacy would be nice. There was nothing fun about needing to swap loot off the floor. Dev's probably aren't going to go full "like, Eve, scamming and nasty behavior is 100% encouraged."
2) Zones need more identity/content. Everything thus far feels like it was made with a random terrain generator and then had things plopped upon it. Feels random. Even spawn points... Shanties in a cave. Middle of a lake in a random gully. Top of a hill climb in a random nook... There's no dead grass or grim reminder it's a lair for Dire Lords... There was something nice about spawning out front of the gates of FP, Neriak FQ, etc. then working your way through a "not massively oversized" city. Great atmosphere... It was memorable.
3) Why do we wear belts if we can't hang anything off of them? Potions, Sheaths, LIGHTSOURCES.... Also, this is a world with magic, why is my Wizard using a torch? Please... How crude and mundane. Even EQ had fire beetle eyes and lightstones off wisps.
I strongly urge all posters to read the rules of this forum.
Particularly the 1st and 3rd rules:
Show respect to other users at all times. No name-calling, insults, or personal attacks toward anyone.
Keep conversations relevant to the channel. (i.e. Stay on Topic)
1. Abandon the hot bar strategy. EQ hot bar approach works wonders. Let us decide what buttons we're putting where. Being forced to see my abilities separated into categories that makes sense for the developers, isn't rewarding. I want them to make sense to me, not necessarily you.
2. Let us turn floating combat text off. It's cluttering up my screen. Feels a bit too flashy MMO-esque.
3. Haven't come across anything else I wasn't already expecting from early access.
1. Character Developement . You have none ! People love to customize their characters with a skill tree or adding attributes as you level .
2. Some of the early low level solo mobs have way too many HP's leveling up is dreadfully slow. Yes its much better in a group but some people like to solo when no one is on during off hours don't ruin their experience.
3. Early game has zero in the way of "rare" drops My characters are level 7 and have numerous open gear slots. At least make some quests to gear up new players. Early game will retain players and it will also certainly lose them give early game some consideration. I tested this game years ago and it's still the exact same early game if you want to keep players do something to grab hold of them and give them something to look forward too like I mentioned in my example #1
I'm all good with a slower paced, challenging game... just give me a f***ing map. It's a borderline deal breaker for me because why tf would you NOT have a map?
This one's still a hard no for me, and I hope they remain firm on that. People simply DO NOT realize what an in game, live map, does for you. You begin running with the map open, completely skipping/missing/avoiding and otherwise becoming numb to, everything going on around you. You stop paying attention, stop trying to adventure, and simply run around watching your little pixel on the map move. It happens with every single game.
I'd be fine with an in game static map, that did not have real time updates, or your character on it. In fact, I'd love one that you had to label yourself with pins.
When I log in right now, part of the game, an actual part of the game, is learning the area, the territory, the dangers, the shortcuts and paths. Getting familiar with it and then being able to run it from memory. As soon as you introduce a map that entire slice of gameplay is 100% nullified. Please do not do this. Maybe some day, but definitely not for a long long time. That isn't what this was supposed to be about. Keep people engaged, social, and alert. Let them ask for help getting to XY, that's the entire point!
-A "little" less interdependency between crafting professions (if professions are restricted to 2... a beginner blacksmith shouldn't have to pay a leather worker just to perform basic crafting - also restricting skill level to character level is overly confining.
-Shared bank slot would greatly reduce the need to play multiple accounts. Relying on other people for something so trivial is just inconvenient and drastically takes away from the fun of playing when you just want to get that dagger you found on your Paladin over to your Rogue or something. Otherwise, restrict character creation slots if you don't want people giving gear to their other characters.
-More flexibility in hotbar customization (using Alt is awful for primary abilities - and alternatively, having something rarely used (like undead only abilities) on primary bar is something I would never do). LAS is great, but key choice should be allowed without macros.
1) Add a shared bank slot please.
2) Fix the skill lists in the character sheet. My cleric for example has the axe skill listed, but afaik this has been intended to be removed for a while already. Otoh, the cleric uses casting skill Fortification, but it isn't listed. Same with the Parry skill.
3) Give every class a real "Origin" (return to bind point) ability, so we don't have to (ab)use /stuck.
A legitimate topographical map (shows no landmarks other than manmade roads, mountains and rivers etc) but it importantly identifies xyz coordinates (i.e. /location) and simply give players the ability to place pins on their own map.
(Otherwise, expect players to rely HEAVILY on Shalazam - which will 100% lead to someone eventually creating a "ShowEQ" game exploitive application (if people aren't using it already).
1. Fix the launcher so that we log out automatically back to the character select screen, not all the way back to before the server select screen. I've long ignored it, but apparently Steam players have that functionality already. We should have it as well.
2. Let me resize the chat/combat text windows. Not the scale, just let me just grab the edge of the window and resize it as needed. Like I can resize the macro window. When I want to review a long conversation or fight, I want to grab the window and expand it to display a lot of text, then shrink it when I'm done and continue playing.
3. PLEASE remove the horse next to the banker in Demith!First, because the sounds that the horse makes are loud and distracting. They get quite irritating to listen to when spending a long time sorting/organizing my inventory. (And it makes no rational sense, as the horse sounds like it's being harasses by a pack of Howlers, but visually is standing quietly in town next to it's rider) Second, because it makes the crowding around that npc worse during busy times, sometimes taking a couple of clicks to open the bank window.
4. (so VR can have options LoL) Change the pathing on the mobs so that they STOP walking under my cursor when I'm fighting or about to loot or skin a mob I just killed. That's not remotely sensible in RL, and is exceedingly irritating ingame to finish a fight and find that 'unrelate' mobs are jumping under my cursor with the apparent intention to trick me into starting a fight with them right after I finished killing a much higher level mob.
1) Night vision for the races that can have it, better lighting options for the ones that are visually impaired... Also, the glow off the touch gives a glare effect, it should be illuminating the area not burning my eyes.
2) Losing exp is fine when you die, de-leveling while the game is still being developed is stupid tbh. Paying for other's mistakes is never a good roll out plan. I'm not saying keep it off, just while the game is in development. Losing exp because of a lag spike is bad enough.
3) Add a map journal, have static crude maps for the different areas that have to be acquired through various means, questing/loot/etc. Just static non-interactive maps, adding pins will just cause people to find data and just add pins from other people.
