I have played games that did the questions before and it winds up making some people feel nervous.  They worry that whatever choice they make will affect the characters power later down the road.

A HUGE beautiful world to explore without anyone telling me where to go or what to do. I want to figure it all out on my lonesome or with the new friends I'm bound to make shortly after my first few deaths to rats/bats/and the like.

I would like to be mostly naked with maybe a starter weapon and a note with a suggestion to go speak to my new guild master.

I’m still under the belief a character that starts at nothing feels better at higher levels then a character that start with all the basics and just upgrades each as the progress.

Give me a set of stat less farmers clothing, a club and a small bag, enough food/water and a couple coins and drop me in the world. IM not anything but a farmer that decides he want more to life then toiling the land.

I hate seeing these intros where some npc says that I’m the most special person in the world and everyone’s waiting for me to cure the land of its blight. Then start me with some crazy animation attacks on a hot bar full of spells…. Makes me feel like I’m playing someone else’s character, like for some reason I’m playing Act 2.

Well considering Pantheon is titled Rise of the Fallen,  I thought this scenario would be fitting: Log into the YOU HAVE DIED message and then like Sogotp said, wake up distorted, in a bed at the Racial starting guildhall with the player having no knowledge of whether it was a dream that you awoke from or really had "died" and have to regain or gain all your strength back through RoPs/leveling.

    This ^^  totally.

LOL Sogotp... I can just imagine the questions for dwarves:

Your a dwarf.  What matters more to you, beer or gold?

    :p

Silly question, because the more gold I have the more beer I can buy ;)

You misunderstood. You can't drink gold...   even your actions give you away. Because you'd buy beer with that gold.. ; ]

The image in my head after reading the thread is the scene in Terminator where there is lightning (sparks, whatever) and the shot shows some smoke with a naked terminator standing from a kneeling position. Personally, I like the idea of a shard falling from the heavens and creating a crater. Inside the crater is a naked you...or something along those lines.

I like deadshades idea alot, also i would add a short, 15-30 sec, cutscene before loading in his family scenario.

1 cutscene for each class showing a generic version of the hero, that this class would be molded after, and who's skills they could find in game, if remember the backstory on pantheon right, i probably messed it up good though :)

To show what the young character might been dreaming off becoming instead of a life at home with her/his family.
