Is crafting FUBAR atm on purpose?

    Anything beyond initial crafting is not available in any reasonable manner. is this on purpose? hitting a level that there should be tier 2 stuff to make but no way to make them. wasting a lot of time trying to figure it out with out any luck and mind is blown due to the fact that Dev chat was saying and advertised playable to level 40 but not sure how with out being able to get gear to survive /shrugs;

    This is frustrating because when it comes to getting drops i have some of the worst luck what takes some a few goes takes me 100x that amount so crafting is my go to;

    Edit in post: Going to elaborate further, and i dont know what Dev's are / are not doing in the background;  Im curious if they think enough gear is dropping to keep toons up to par as far as equipment goes;  I for one with out crafting would not be doing that great, and now im at a level to start upgrading again but low and behold - nothing is there - "hey if you do groups you'll get the options to ,  if you go look for treasure boxes etc." which yeah just as bad as boss drops get some here and there but no consistency.   Dont want the "BEST" gear but i do want to be functional; and as far as buying from others - which i would do but lol i barely scrape silver together let alone the gold they are going to ask for each piece /shrugs

    I understand how you feel, I've been focused on learning all I can about Crafting for the ~2 years I've been in testing.

    Crafting needs a huge amount of coding done to get what has already been designed into the game. Unfortunately, the Devs who code stuff for VR have been very focused on server stability and combat mechanics. (Can't say that I disagree with that). It has left many parts of Crafting waiting in line. It is a high priority, just not at the top of the list yet.

    Hang on, we'll get there. I've read most of what Nephele has posted describing how Crafting is planned. It's gonna be really good when it finally gets here.

    I think they should just put the base armor of each tier to buy than if you like to get something special loot it from a box or a boss.  This is slowing down the progress and leveling of most.  I know we are in early access and we are to find things wrong and voice are problems well this is one thank you.

    I prefer the crafing in games like EQ2. There is absolutely nothing innovative here. Very basic and copycat from the last 20+ years of mmos. You would think that with the downgraded graphics, fairly basic game engine and same overall mechanics as many other mmos over the last 20+ years, that this game would have been finished 8 years ago.

    The crafting in Everquest 2 in my view was dumbed down beyond repair not too long after it's release and encouraged many EQ style crafters to go back to Everquest way back then, Pantheon's crafting may not be as difficult or grindy as Vanguard's but it is certainly better than Everquest 2, AS IS. That doesn't mean it doesn't need to improve in some ways (which it will) but I hope it never becomes the homogenized whitebread nonsense that EQ2 crafting represents, at least to me.

    There is a serious need for the base Tier 2+ crafting recipes. 

    The system is fine , but trying to gather RNG / player based drops because there is no vendor T2 + crafting available destroys the viability of the player market (without them drops are going to be on par/better) found where the drops are located.

    This also hinders crafting progression and adventure progression, due to the inability to produce base items for that tier of content.
