i think they are listing on steam next week or something? that will bring visibility up a lot.
to be honest it still seems quite unfinished despite all the time in development... the sound is second to none.. audio is crisp and punchy and extremely well done across the board but the graphics are not high fidelity. at all... and the game still performs quite poorly from a technical standpoint instead of trading off lower end visuals for better frames.
im playing on medium and get 60fps.
i have an i9 CPU and ran a single GTX980ti which plays titles like cyberpunk, new world, baldurs gate, witcher3, satisfactory (basically every game up until about darktide) at max graphical settings at 60fps.
my graphics card is below the listed requirements for pantheon but the thing is pantheon barely looks better than vanilla wow.. you cant just slap a requirement to have a 1080+ as your GPU when the game looks like it would run on a pentium~
the playable gameworld seems tiny, the quest content is basic fetch/kill quests and nothing is voice acted whatsoever. the animations are clunky and seem to be missing half of their frames. its still very much a beta thats being worked on and not ready for promotion.
im not trying to deride the game. entering the MMORPG market is extremely hard to do and easy to mess up and since yesterday i have already seen improvement with new furniture being added to interiors and work is obviously being done getting ready for EA but its much MUCH too early to spend money saying "hey come see"
it probably wont be downloadable on steam until the EA proper which is still over a full month away.
surely they will be able to present something serviceable to play while they roll out new content from there... the quality and timeframe of that new content is going to determine its steam rating by the time ashes of creation and dune awakening become serious competition halfway through 2025.
some of the new stuff like climbing, acclimation and the perception system indicate the devs understand rehashing EQ1 or WOW 1:1 isnt going to work (its been 25 years and there are STILL people that havent learned this lesson) the character pane looks like there is some depth to the systems and if they decide to implement some of the talked about gameplay elements like mobs attacking the cities etc it could work.
i bought the game. if we dont back people who are taking a shot then we have no business complaining when there is no good MMOs to play.
I have been lurking for years and participating on twitch streams for months. I have a great history of the game and am eager to pledge, which I have been attempting to do for the past two hours.
Known issue with the pledging page - delete cookies, etc.
JOppa, guys - I finally get on the hype train and you don't have the ability to accept money from a formerly crowd funded game? How is any new person, let alone a lurker supposed to have any faith in your competency if I have to jump through hoops just to give you money? Its actually nauseating to me that I feel like I'm getting suckered for a second time (Thanks EQNext). Seriously - get your house in order.
Seebs
the problem with the pledging page is the autofill.
actually type stuff in and it works fine..... having a separate VR, forum and pantheon game accounts is also confusing AF and the website implies you will have to use paypal itself (you do use a paypal website but its just a straight credit card entry)
they would be well served to have a single master account and scrub all mention of paypal.. it doesnt matter who bankrolls your payment system, customers dont care and certainly dont need/want to get emails from them after buying your product...

This was a HUGE turn off for me as well while trying to access the game. WHy is it this way?
Doesnt matter why I guess. It needs to be simplified and fast.
