So, this morning patched using the following client below.

Gameday almost always officially opens at 10AM PDT, 1PM EDT, 5PM GMT.
At some point before that (anywhere from an hour to the evening before), VR will turn on the patch server which will allow you to log in and DL the client (or patch it if you have one installed already). You still won't have access to servers, but you'll be ready to login at that point.
When they are ready for people to login and play, they will unlock your access to the servers, and you will stop getting the "no servers available" message.
