In-Game Notepad

Has it been considered to include some sort of in-game notepad for players?

Back in the day, Asheron's Call had books one could purchase and write (type) in them. It was one of those little details that I absolutely loved; I even started a journal for my character. While it is of course quite simple to keep notes outside of the game, I find having the ability to do so in the game elevates immersion.

This would be a great idea.

Fun, I'd use it I'm sure!  I played AC and don't remember that feature, I wonder if I was just too much of a noob to know it existed, LOL

/note opens up a notepad in EQ, added around the luclin interface.

i agree on the added immersion.  Doing quests even, not handheld through. better to make notes of people you ask along the way, for example.

Every true life story of explorers of new lands I've ever read tells of them keeping a journal. Often the story of their exploration is taken directly from that journal. I've never played any game that I didn't keep a notebook on my comp desk to take notes in. Stopping to take notes while I go doesn't reduce my immersion, it adds to it.

If the only purpose of an in game notepad is to replace my notebook, I wouldn't really support spending dev time to add that functionality.
