Considering the game seems to have morphed to something the population has NOT been crying for , for like 20 years..

(the beans have beans have been spilled regarding easy mode death akin to WoW (you go into a dungeon and get no loot, losing your cheap 1-2 (or sumonned) bags with no tradeskill materials and the money you earned is not a punishment for being stupid or reckless)

    what about mentoring down ?

This is what made EQ with friends or even new players SO BAD and SO offputting , and the only MMO to try and salvage playing with casual friend players (married, kids, odd job hours etc), we need this so badly and i haven't seen boo about it since the website revamp and the horror of lack of punishing death

(there are at least 10 ways to get a corpse back NOW in EQ 1 and 2 that was not possible what made death so crazy in EQ1 in 1999)

summon corpse (Shadownknight now, + tiny coffins both, now across zones)

drag corpse instead of permission to LOOT (omg nightmare EQ1) - that's HUGE

corpse pop zone in after 15 minutes (planes of power EQ1)

pay for corpse summon at NPC, cost goes up as you level

Give rez items to players in group to rez the healer - can have these cost gems or whatever or reagents, but have something to rez the rezzer (out of battle ?)

soul bind (not all , but some like weapons ?) items like Vanguard - you don't have to, but gives you a chance

BANKING - PUT YOUR backup gear in the BANK

    way back when,

4.11 Can I play with my friend’s new character using my high-level character? What about alts?

Yes, through the Mentor System. Mentoring temporarily de-levels your character and allows you to group with them. You will either scale down or assume the character you were at that lower level (TBD) and be a huge help. This will enable players to group together without one being overpowered and content trivialized.

The Mentor System is voluntary although there will be incentives to mentor, giving your character certain advantages (points, recognition, and other rewards – the details are TBD). We want to encourage people to help new players. Additionally, there will be incentives to create alternate characters through the Progeny System (where when you reach a certain level you can create an alternate level one character who will have some advantages over a brand-new character)

Did this get idea from EQ2 get abolished?

good god i hope not !! , it was THE bright spot of fun to occassionally group with friends and not have to "power level" and pass nostalgic areas of the game just so you can group to have fun.

not having this mentoring idea in = breaking community,  power levelled player is almost as bad as Ebayed player 2000-2002.

You really need to make this more clear. I cannot understand what you are saying.

Not sure what this post is getting at... Mentoring is good and we need it?

Rogue said: "Not sure what this post is getting at... Mentoring is good and we need it?"

I think that's what he is saying yes.

I personally do like the idea of Mentoring as long as it's a choice and not an automatic thing that levels you up or down dependant on the area you are in. Games like Neverwinter and Star Wars MMO did this, where your level and power of your items was automatically adjusted when you entered certain zones or areas. I really hate that. In my opinion this just homogonizes the game and there never feels like a challenge curve. No matter what zone you go to, you will always feel exactly the same 'power' level.

Yet I do like the option where I can choose to adjust my level and power in order to have an adventure with a lower level friend who is playing a character that is too low to normally group with me. I will echo the sentiment that I do hope this will still be in the game as I do think it's an important way to help keep friends together and enjoying the game together.

optional Mentoring to group with friends has not been mentioned in a long long time, and i fear it's gone, and it's a game breaking tenant imo.

I want my money back i pledged if mentoring is gone.

It's a huge huge way to break apart friends who know each other in real life with different play times available.

Not every group of friends has a tank and healer at the go.

there have been at least 20-40x in 10 years where a friend wanted to join but oh..i guess i have to create a new character "AGAIN" for the 40th time to play with a friend to make sure we all make max level of my character making sure my new friend does NOT experience 90 % of the game.

I don't get responses like the above. You obviously didn't read the contract you signed when you pledged nor do you understand what a pledge is.

You didn't buy a guarantee. You donated for a potential product that you had been advised could be changed to anything at any time or may fail to be delivered entirely.

So no, you won't get what you want and quote frankly, between your low tier OP and your follow up post, I don't really see why anyone should take this thread seriously. It seems to be a post created more to complain than anything else.

Right now, the game may be on the verge of just outright failing as they are openly looking for a publisher and that will likely entail some serious changes. This isn't going to end how you want it to Euther.

When you start a thread with a line like this: "Considering the game seems to have morphed to something the population has NOT been crying for , for like 20 years.."

    It gets locked.

I understand your post (kind of...) it was delivered very poorly though and is now a hotbed for arguments and assumptions, none of which we allow on any official platform.

The FAQ has recently been updated, we also have a more detailed version found here: https://pantheonriseofthefallen.gamepedia.com/Pantheon:_Rise_of_the_Fallen_Wiki and we update our community often via streams and developer roundtables. If you want to know something that we have not provided information on, please use the search function to make sure the question has not already been asked and if it hasn't, then please feel free to make a new post asking the question in a social-friendly manner, leaving out any passive-aggressiveness or underhanded jab at our company while on our forums, please.
