I can't really think about that until I know more about the race and class and lore, which takes quite a long time of playing the game to appreciate.
I might have something in mind from the inital look and feel, but I find that the character develops as I play rather than following a preconceived idea that might turn out to make no sense in a world that is new to me.
My main character in EQ (Darch Thex as you can see in my profile pic) was of the Teir'Dal royal blood line "Thex". A few other Marines and I had a guild called The Royal Family of Thex and we RP'd cleansing Neriak of "evils" that plagued our lands and patroling the Commonlands. Was fun on a PvP server. All of us dark elves had the surname Thex, and one of our friends was a Troll that we allowed in the guild to RP as one of the loyal guards to the family, but he gave himself the surname "Thex" not understanding why we were doing it hehe.
I need to create some kind of story to bridge the gap between my gameplay and the lore created by someone else while having "my own story" to differentiate myself from every other person playing the same race/class as me, wearing the same gear as me, doing the exact same things as me. Before I can create a story, I really need to know what all of the classes are going to be (including Bard, Necro and new race/class matrix) so I know what I'm going to play. I'm having difficulty getting excited about playing because this key ingredient to the recipe of my personal creativity is missing. If I'm going to be immersed, I need to create my own story in order to have my own identity in a game where everyone else looks and functions the same.
Yes. Ma ran a small business in a medium sized town and wanted myself and my sisters to participate in the business. She particularly was enthusiastic after I developed some healing talents and said that a free cure disease for each customer would more than double sales. Not believing that a woman's place was in the kitchen and the bedroom (well, to be fair, she never tried to get us to cook) I waited until a recruiter for a mercenary company was in town and snuck off to enlist .....
No I probably won't run that one but maybe I will.
Et tu, Brute? I already knew that Ithuulamae had been corrupted by Thronefast, but I was holding out hope for you, Dear Kilsin. The questions you should be asking is give us the real backstory of the corrupt dynasty of Amensol! My ancestors have been fighting to bring light to the darkness surrounding their emergence and vice grip on power, and to the lives they have squandered to maintain it over the centuries. Their true tale will see the light of day. Mark my words, Kilsin. And tell your handler, Ithuulamae, that his lies will not outlast our movement. Viva RACHA!

It's the same for me. Even though I tend to roleplay (lightly) it's very much an organic thing, not a pre-defined backstory. A lot depends on how the world, the races, the classes, and the various societies are presented.
This is supposed to be an mmoRPg afterall, so ofc I roleplay at least lightly. I would like for an mmorpg to be an mmorpg again. Like in Classic EQ, no Earthly char names. No names like "JetLee" "JetLey" etc. They should take a hard stance against that nonsense.

Does this have anything to do with the troll shaman that gained some notoriety on the WoW Classic subreddit? His name was Thex. It got a little too popular, eventually becoming his own Reddit flair and run into the meme ground. https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/thex
I usually don't RP. Everquest Next was the only game I considered giving my character a back story in and that was mostly due to the lore updates giving context for the different races and their backgrounds.
Right now the only context my character has is that he is a dwarf cleric who might like people or he might not (depends on the day and the people), and he might enjoy (or NEED) a stout drink occasionally (again depends on the day and the people).
