I thought I would create this thread to help streamline the question process during the livestreams. I feel like it's tough for Roenick and Machail to try to find questions on the fly as they are flying across the Twitch Chat Feed. Also this is for those to hopefully get some of their questions asked that can't attend live. I'd like to steer clear of asking when is Alpha, Beta, Launch etc as I feel once they are ready to tell you, they will definitely do so and not have the spend each stream explaining why they can't give dates.
I'm assuming questions should revolve around the state of the game or PA5, so that being said I'll ask mine:
1.) What core mechanics or systems are still in the design phase?
2.) Not asking for % complete as people will try to extrapolate it towards a launch date, but approximately what number of zones are beyond a graybox phase?
3.) After going through the shakeout, what are the core objectives of PA5? This answer could be broad such as we'd like to test chaining quest lines to work in succession properly or acclimation works as intended with iterative acclimation scores/tiers.
Always appreciate the updates.
To be honest I don't see the point in asking questions, for these reasons.
1. The Q&A potion of the streams is extremely small, meaning only a few cherry picked questions get answered. Probably due the the excessively long discussions on “topic” and the few questions answered dragged on, when short yes or no could suffice. In short to much rambling IMO.
2. The current state of the game and it’s Tenets are not at least in part, reflected by the website, past Dev Roundtables or any other documents made public, and is knowable only at the highest level, apparently on a “need to know” basis, which makes it very difficulty to pose a question, or even have a discussion.

To which, I also find it difficulty to recommend this game to anyone anymore since I don't know what type of game this is becoming, and I shouldn't have to move from Champion to VIP just to “maybe” know basic stuff about the game, when I don’t wish to play pre-alpha.
Seriously, what is the point in separate forums sections for different pledge levels when the only discussions are in the General Public area accessible to even non-pledges? Is this a case of waiting for that elusive “new Website” that’s right around the corner as of 4 years ago?
I’d like to know more about the crafting, and harvesting side of things, the non-combat areas of the game, That seems years away at this point, but honestly I’m losing faith in this company due to a lack of trust. I hope this “State of the Game” stream helps relieve my concerns, but expectations aren't high.

I mean... the main website might be old and have some outdated info, but I don't really think that it is completely out of line with what "this game is becoming". Where is all this mistrust and anger coming from? If you've been watching the streams and the news I am sure you know basic stuff about the game. Also we have seen the new website now, albeit incomplete, but at least we know that it is coming. Personally I would rather development hours go to game mechanics than a new website. The fact that is has taken so long to get a new website shows where they are focusing their energy I think at least.
Good/fast/cheap, pick two but you can't have all three. The budget for this game from what I can tell isn't something massive like you'd have behind some of the huge MMO titles that have come out and failed (ESO), so I would rather sacrifice fast over good any day of the week.
I also don't expect the team at VR to be completely transparent about everything going on because the development is very fluid and ever evolving, and every time they do release information on something they are even just considering, there's backlash and freakouts and even negative PR. We don't need to know everything nor are we entitled to, and I for one am thrilled that Joppa and the staff take time every month, time that they are not obligated to take, in order to inform us more about what they've been doing.

Understand where your frustrations may come from, although I don't share the same sentiments about losing trust as I don't expect to be told everything and many things requiring testing I just want to see how progress is being made (stemming from my first question, where I don't want names of zones, just a general idea of how many zones are beyond the graybox stage).
As far as finding it pointless to ask these questions again I don't necessarily agree. The intent is not that I wholehearted believe that they will answer my specific questions but in previous streams they have asked for questions ahead of time. The idea is with the given topic, if there's a large amount of people asking the same thing, it might be worth answering and it is to also try to allow those to ask questions that aren't part of the livestream.
I'm also be curious to see what other people's questions are as it pertains to "State of the Game" that doesn't involve asking when is alpha or beta.

They'll prob never answer the questions on this forum since the Q/A portion is generally taken from chat where they cherry pick their answers. But it's worth a try, so here is my list of questions:
My question would be whether or not they had a firm concept for the Bard enough to share their vision (not necessarily a full class reveal although that would be lovely).
Example of their "vision" could be:
1. We want the Bard's primary role to be CC, comparable to the ENC; Group makeup would determine which class would be more desired or both will be equally good at CC etc.
2. We want the Bard to be more -mellee/song/spell/ranged/etc/etc- based
3. We are working on mechanics to allow the bard to xyz
I know that question won't be answered, but that (and PvP, the necromancer reveal, along with the changes to the race/class matrix) is all I'm really concerned with at this stage of my 5 years of following the game. Graybox design and Unity 5+ development doesn't do it for me (although I understand its importance, I've lost interest in the shimmering water, dynamic lighting and pretty pictures of the game when I was told that there is no time soon that I will be able to participate in it). All I have left to entertain myself is theorycrafting and trying to generate an idea for a character I want to play... which I still don't know yet because all of the playable characters haven't even been revealed... so I can't even pretend to imagine to be creative about an MMORPG that doesn't exist yet :(

Hey Darch, just a heads up Joppa has confirmed that the Bard will be considered a CC class. Thats all we know thus far.
I too am excited to see how the Bard as another CC will flesh out.
Jaz
One question:
Has the emphasis on climbing now made it necessary to revamp all the older zones that have been revealed at some point in the past? Specifically, was the game essentially rebooted (In terms of game world and zone design) due to this type of feature creep in the last couple years?
Also, as a followup to the above comment about Bards and CC, the Necromancer also was confirmed by Joppa to be a Control oriented class. This is essential as it brings the Control archtype options up to three different classes and on par with other roles.
I'd like to thank the same group of people for being so consistent on the forums this year. Your relentless negativity and lack of patience is what gave me the ability to stop visiting these forums on a daily / regular basis, and subsequently obsessing over the release. I now have a little more free time, and the wait for a release will seem quicker since I'm not here counting the nanonseconds for the next dribble of information.
If you muppets got your own way, you'd see everything, know everything and then have nothing to experience when the game actually releases.
Ugh...
We were previously told that we could look forward to one video per class to show off their abilities / spells and class mechanics.
When can we expect this to begin please?
Thanks, @jstsunami
Questions for VR: will there be risk of deleveling and exp-loss in Pantheon especially after the announcement of respawning with your full set of gear and weapons after death? How will the risk of death in Pantheon appropriately reflect this major benefit in Joppa's recent revelation? How will the riskVSreward tenet pertaining to death be upheld?
It seems The reward of recovered-exp/corpse run is high if the risk of deleveling and exp-loss is also high.
*My questions and thoughts are for VR on this thread - thank you!*

When is the new web site? When is the new FAQ? What is the commitment to keeping the new FAQ up to date? Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, or Annually? Pick one, just stick to it. Anything would be better than what's been done so far.
Honestly, if you had a scanning electron microscope you couldn't measure how little I care when alpha is coming. Launch is so many years away, it might as well be never, at this rate.
sorry, but i agree with both Hemlock and vjek. i am down to even visiting the web site to maybe 3 min per week and sometimes less
Here is a question for you, that you won't answer: How much work has been done on Reinfall? or the 3rd land mass, whatever that's called.
1. Once PA5 is in place, can we expect to watch more member of the community streaming their deaths across Terminus?
I , for one, would like to see somebody attempt to break Roenick's record!
2. Is there likely to be any further release of an updated Map/Atlas - even without Points of Interest marked/listed?
3. As a stretch goal, have VR discussed any further sub-races such as Barbarian (a Human variant)?
Misclicked when I edited my question.
Well I may as well add: onwards and upwards! =)
Thank you Machail for bringing up death. It is greatly appreciated! And thank you Joppa for more clarification - I look forward to hearing more about it.
Some feedback: De-leveling risk should be there, especially at higher levels to keep higher levels engaged and avoid that 'permanent cushion' at end game. De-leveling helps with compromise and keeping people engaged at all levels.
(my feedback is for VR- thanks!)
