The dates for PAX East video game expo were just announced! PAX East will be held Feb 27 - Mar 1, 2020 in Boston, MA.
I flew out for the 2018 event just because Pantheon was there. I got to meet and talk with the devs and got a 15-minute demo of Black Rose Keep with Ben Dean and team. The rest of PAX was pretty awesome too ;)
I'm just wondering if Visionary Realms will make another trip there in 2020.
Given you have to plan out far in advance for a booth, the cost to do so and given where they are on project Faerthale and Alpha, it may not be this time around but I expect them to showcase in Pax East next year. Pax West is likely going to be the first real convention, followed by Pax East 2020.
As we encraoch near to PF and Alpha, I would like to have it in the pledgers hands before they take it to something like a Pax which like any gaming convention isn't necessarily for outreach in a niche genre but more for networking or outreach for respective talent from which to hire from in VR's case.
I was out of town last time, but the after-party looked like it was a blast. Baz’s video had me quite jealous. If there is a casual meetup again we need to send Ben a ticket so he can join everyone this time. Nothing like a twenty hour flight and Boston traffic plus snow to maximise Fantheon Fun.

Haha, I actually can't wait until I can catch up with you guys! If I start swimming now I may make it by next year :D

Or did you mean 2021, for 'next year' ?
They have no public timelines. They have a history which really can't be used given that Pre-Alpha was in phases and the first four testing/feedback instances of each of those phases was not Project Faerthale or even just Faerthale City. The entirety of Pre-Alpha =/= Project Faerthale.
PA5 began development and implementation after they came back from their vacation in early January. The issue here is regardless of what was said in the Newsletters, we don't know when they legitimately began work on Project Faerthale as it is known today.
Your 1.5 year claim is then incorrect or at best, conflation if all you can go by is a newsletter that said the word 'Faerthale' in it. They may have had Faerthale in mind as far back as 2016 in the early staging but does not mean they began work on what we now know of today as Project Faerthale. The Testing/Feedback portion of PA5 is expected to be around the corner. If it passes feedback, they said they would move on to Alpha implementation. However, if there are problems due to the feedback of the player testers, they would move into PA6 development/implementation. I assure you, I'm not. At least not to the degree you may think.
As for Pax. Pax West was Aug 30 - Sep 2, 2019. So September 2020. As for Pax East, that's in March and I was hinting that 'maybe' East would be possible. I was banking more on West given the vicinity to San Diego as opposed to East and because I want to see PF in the hands of Testers and perhaps Alpha before they showcase anything for Pax. PF due to the complications, and how much it encompasses the entirety of what Pantheon is, it makes sense it would be used as a model to showcase in gaming conventions and for other marketing outreach ventures.
As for being optimistic. I try not to be and try to remain as even keeled as I can be. However, I think it may be that you're pessimistic. Even to the point of negatively conflating production times and dates, it's only natural I would look optimistic or even overly optimistic to you.
