Vanilla Pantheon, and Beyond

Im excited for alpha and Beta, but ultimatley looking forward to Vanilla launch and expansion content beyond launch. Good Vanilla core is the launching point to all the great expansions. All races and classes don't need to be in Vanilla nor should they. That being said i vote that bard's, barbarians and Trolls be in the very first expansion :P. Why were kunark and velious such a great expansion's? Because they were still connected to Vanilla EQ. Im currently addicted to playing the rogue class. I will no doubt be playing one in pantheon. With a subscription based game future development is a cornerstone of game tenets. Roleplaying my favorite classes and races and interacting with a high fantasy world haning out with guildies on raids or forming up experience groups. Working on questlines, Camping rares, leveling alts.

In game Housing, and territorial controls. Someday i will own a house in Thronefast. How will they implement player housing within the city? instanced residential areas tend to be just ghost towns. Will all npc's within the city have their own house and bed>?  During the night do npc's close shop and return to their homes? If so do different cities have differnt time zone's? Surely there will merchants that sell during the late hours in the sewer district of town for a higher price. If someone quits the game what happens to their house>? If you quit the game does an NPC takeover your house untill another player character purchases the house? NPC's that move into a players house need a purpose, Do they work at the quarry? or are they enlisted to the army? a city should have life of its own even if no Player character is in it. Fippy Darkpaw right now is attacking the gates of Quenos, and no person has zoned into quenos in a month. This knowledge warms my heart.

Instead of housing within cities will we instead be able to own our own ship's with living quarters? Non caster are bound to whereever there ship is anchored>? Ship stays spawned for your play duration no matter what zone you are in? You can sail your own ship from continent to contintent and set anchor anywhere along the coastline of any continent? All my alts and Box toons can be resident of the same ship? Racial Ship style Variance?

Did anyone from the Everquest or Pantheon Development teams write any Lady Antebellum or The Band Perry song lyrics? Taking Back Sunday? Rise Against? Or possibly something more obscure like Seether, Good Charlotte, or the All American Rejects? or shinedown?

Yeah. I strongly agree that any expansions should be closely connected to Vanilla - instead of taking a major wrong turn like what we saw in the latter (and apparently this happened to some other games too).

I think you'll find some that argue that bard's should be in release, not the first expansion.  :)

I hope we get expansions as amazing as the ruins of kunark expansion was. The content packed in there was perfect.

    And Velious.

Kunark and Velious did not make stupid changes to the game.

We have learned that expansions can be a very great thing, or they can be a good game’s downfall. Thank goodness VR realizes this!

if there was a big change in velius I think I do not respect vanilla and kunark
in vanilla there was a great system of factions of the different races and their cities in kunark respected that with the iksar
they were kos everywhere and in turn the other races were kos Cabilis
some said that the racial abilities of the evils races was superior to those of the good races because you had it more difficult in the world and in turn the racial abilities of the iksar were the best of all because everything was kos with the iksar

ok came velius and all together in Thurgadim all the completeness of factions with the races to the garbage all were admitted in Thurgadim without further difficulties even the iksar

@munge - It seems to me if VR - Devs/CEO/current team remain in control of this project, your hopes will be validated.  Reading and listening to the VR team reminds me of an AD&D DM I once had, who was so good at creating a game world for us it left an adverse side effect ... the game was no longer fun unless he was DM'ing.

Indeed, Velious was great as well.
