I posted this in the forum talking about expansion classes and something about it has been gnawing at me.
From the lore:
Ginavi resolved a desperate plan: she would seed herself within the remaining Ginto with a portion of her power and undiminished holiness, hoping to preserve them. (This act was similarly undertaken by the Dark Myr Goddess of Bounty, Syronai, though to less fortunate effect). In the warmth of the next morning, Ginavi sacrificed herself to imbue the few remaining undefiled Ginto with her power, transforming them into a second new race, immune to the effects of the Ravaging Lord and his Revenant. These are known as the Remnant: zealous, pious warriors of exceptional abilities, with an unyielding appetite to exterminate the Revenant.
Yet the Suns of Ginavi’s vision would rise, and with them came a morning which broke the Revenant into utter chaos. These Six Suns of Terminus were warriors of godlike power in physical might and arcane discipline, one from each pantheon of the Sacred. More commonly called WarWizards, they are most easily described as High Mortal beings of nearly pure supernatural ability. I confess their existence is contested by some today, so strange is their origin and decisive was their merit. With no warning of any kind, the dual terrors set upon the Revenant High Mortals with furious precision. Haethus-Krevgejl fled before her assailants, and is since so rarely seen she is thought perished. True to his namesake, Ossari raged in ferocity and managed to wound one of the WarWizards. But his might could not overcome the relentless heroes, and he fell dead on the very earth he had wiped Havensong from, as if he had merely prepared his own grave.
I'm hopeful we get this class at some point. In the lore, one was killed, but that still leaves five that could be scattered around Terminus to train future war wizards in various aspects of the class!
So, here's my question. Ginavi sacrificed herself to imbue the Ginto with her holiness and power and, thus, the Remnant came to be. Did this result in the creation of the war wizards, or was that something else and, if this is where they originated, why does the lore say "one from each pantheon of the Sacred?"
Oh I'd love to talk about War Wizards! Here is what I understand...
Ginto were brought to Terminus in the Second Collisions along with the Dark Myr, Archai and Humans. So Ginto are a race and The Inifinite Union is a god-pair.
The War Wizards are referred to as the Suns of Ginavi's vision. So it just states that their coming was foretold.
Each War Wizard is of a different Pantheon (and therefore cannot be held under just the Infinite Union).
They are likely High Mortals and one from each pantheon (of the sacred six races?) implying that they may have once been gods. However no one knows for sure and the below text implies that they might even have been exagerated.
"More commonly called WarWizards, they are most easily described as High Mortal beings of nearly pure supernatural ability. I confess their existence is contested by some today, so strange is their origin and decisive was their merit."
Aradune is called a War Wizard so we might know at least one of them. If I apply the assumption that the War Wizards are gms/devs, I have an opinion on the identity of the fallen War Wizard but it might be innappropriate to share my guess.
(War Wizards/Suns of Terminus - War Wizards/Suns of Terminus - warriors of godlike power in physical might and arcane discipline, one each from the Sacred Six (dwarves, elves, ogres, dark myr, archai and humans). I do not know which race it was that died thought, the other 5 have disappeared for the time being.
Im thinking of the War Wizards as deities for their repective races. They are warriors of godlike power after all. But dunno how true that is especially since one of the races would have a dead deity.
So, the Suns of Terminus from Ginavi's vision were not the result of her sacrifice, but were just seen by her before her death. That, then, begs the question: Where did they come from? I have to wonder if these were protectors empowered by the power served by the Emissary. So many questions. We need more story to chew on!
Exactly. The 'power' the 'emissary' ..something. Like GIVE US MORE LORE. I admit that while I am 'unclear' on some parts of the lore, I am outright 'confused' by other parts.
Oh, side note, the term Sacred Six ~also~ applies to all of the races that 'arrived' on Terminus so ...we know there are/were more than 12 races. I tend to forget that.
But I think we can wrap up (or get started? lol) with the text below.
"Alas, the start of the Frail Age came when the dignitaries of the Sacred Six returned to Vesu five months after the “Suns availed” at Ka’Druhorr. Rather, when four of the six did so. For many a midnight pact was broken in the light of this new day, but none so significant as the one founded on Vesu. There stood only five posts on the wet sands of the mist-soaked isle, and on them hung only four heralds. The Elven, Human, Dwarven and Archai stood as they had always, while the Ogre post was in place -- yet with their herald removed. The Dark Myr post was gone entirely"
Nice, so Ossari killed the Dark Myr WarWizard of the Sacred Six. Wonder what happeneed to the Ogre WarWizard?
I want to know their names....
Oh 'the fight' ..well.. here you go, I'll just let you read.
"Yet in even this short time, the Ravaging Lord had grown in power -- and depravity. Too slowly it was understood that he cared not who survived, setting loose rivers of molten ore across the jagged terrain of Ka’Druhorr once the armies had entered it. The forces of the Six were divided and trapped, easily ensnared by the expectant Revenant. Yet with their supernatural fervency, two of the WarWizards moved directly to the Ravaging Lord, knowing his death would avail all threats. But after a furious melee one lay dead, while the second was in desperate peril."

Ittero (a.k.a. The Ravaging Lord) killed one of the war wizards, but we don't know which. None are named, it just says 'one from each pantheon.' Ossari (He Who Rages) was an 'evil' human god who descended to high mortal and joined the Ravaging Lord.
Tigersin said:Keep in mind, Ittero was so strong that he could kill a Dragon prince in seconds. So we might presume that the War Wizards are stronger than a Reignborn but far far weaker than the Dragon king.
From what we've seen so far, it appears the only thing at least as strong, if not stronger than the dragon king is the power the Emissary represents.
