Have anyone started to think about their characters backstories? Today, when i was taking a bath, I started thinking about it and i guess I need some time and inspiration. What about you? Share if you can - if you have it all ready or if it's just an outline of the idea.
And I don't want to open separate topic just for this, so I'll ask here - especially since it's connected: Is there known place in Terminus where adepts of the ART (and by art I obviously mean magic) gather and study their specialisations?

I don't much do a backstory, I pretty much just start where I'm put. Prior to my heading out for adventure I was just some nobody, doing nobody things. Playing the game IS creating my story.

Not that I have heard of yet, unless you mean like they show in the creating Thronefest video, as you come in the gate to the Left is the Mele area (watch the video to see what they called it... armory or something like that) and if you turn Right instead your in the Magic Quarter (or whatever they called it)
Mother wanted me to go into the family business. Her motto was that a woman's place was in the kitchen - and the bedroom - and ma never did do much cooking.
I admit the pay was good and the work wasn't as dangerous as fighting dragons, or even orcs, but how many children do exactly what their parents want? I certainly didn't.
I just had to get away and spread my wings.
Saw this one for a 5th level Paladin, during a dnd5e / rolegate / dndbeyond campaign: (It does line up pretty well with a/the current sword coast map)

My life started as an orphan in Longsaddle, my family a victim of random Orc raiding party who I'm told came from The Lurkwood.
I did my best in Longsaddle until I turned 18, and traveled to Neverwinter in search of more than being a farmhand.
A militia recruiter in Neverwinter offered me everything I wanted: Structure, training, a bright future, and a purpose.
I was trained at Helm's Hold, and the priests of Helm convinced me to take my Oath of Devotion. I was then stationed at Thornhold, just north of Waterdeep, as a Paladin, a soldier of faith.
I have seen comrades fall to The Dead in the Mere of Dead Men, and be taken by the guile and deception of many Goblinoids of the Sword Mountains. I learned too much about them, during my time as a soldier.
Recently, after completing an intensely covert mission, I have been honorably discharged from service, with a parting gift from my commander. I seek adventure, honor to Helm and justice for the weak.

Personally? I don't have backstory for my MMO characters, there's too much math and not enough imagination between me and 'them'.

i'm an inquisitor working for a secret organization that grew up in the slums of faerthale. when i was a kid i was a big fan of dick tracey, carmen san diego, who framed roger rabbit, etc. anways on the outside i appear to be a private dectective investigating things cases. so i'm an ember elf living with all the ashen people that frown upon me since i'm not a tree hugger. here my character explores cultural and racial tension within the community.
i don't necessaryly solve crime but it's more about intellgence gathering and working with both sides of society.
the secret organization is something like the order of the white lotus from avatar, but its more about the teachings of the kybalion.
