"Will there be some, any, form of sea/ocean travel to get across large bodies of water?
We've not finalized how sea travel will work at launch, but eventually you'll be able to sail ships around the world.... before all of that is implemented, however, some limited class abilities, similar to those that teleport you over land would likely teleport you over water. "

I cant wait to see the water for the boat travel in Pantheon,, after seeing it in games like UBOAT and Sea of Thieves, they have come along way in making it look aweseome.

Ex Sea of Thieves water Gorgeous.

I don't think comparison should be done with games where the sea is the main focus, simply because they have all the reasons to make it as great as possible.

For me, water super shinny effects are clearly overrated. I don't mind a flat sea because I don't especially want the game to focus on this aspect, even thought I would enjoy it. Putting to much work in a secondary feature is clearly not what I expect from the game.

SEeing as how pantheon tries to involve the environment as much as possible, i can definitely see this happening in some form or shape.

It might not be as beautifull / dynamic as sea of thieves, but i can see it happening and would not mind it at all. When a storm is happening that the waters turn blurry, fog appears and thunders strike on deck. I would like it to be dynamic, if only for the wow effect. Can't be realistic enough for me, but i do have to agree with MauvaisOeil, it is secondary, i rather they focus on primary gameplay first.

I feel like Sea of Theives water VFX is unmatched. But where this game is not solely based on water like SoT is, I wouldn't complain if its even half as good.

Always thought this one was really well done, and simple, relatively speaking.

Those games have great water effects! I'd add Archeage to the mix, which also had a hugely enjoyable water environment.

I don't know how much effort it is to create "realistic" water. If it is not too bad, I would definitely say they should go for it, because it makes the world so much more realistic and enjoyable.
