Do the Devs Just Love Smurfs or something? Especially Dwarves look like Smurfs I was looking forward to being a dwarf again, But Not anymore I dont want to be a Smurf, I hope there is a colour pallet that we can choose from and not Just light blue to dark blue. I really wanted to be a Fearsom Dwarf, looking like a smurf is NOT fearsom or scarey in the slightest. REALLY disapointed.
They are still finalizing races. A good example is that back in September they announced the Skar have been updated. The website is still showing the old art but internally things have changed.

They have also said we can expect to have "the normal" amount of character customization that is expected in modern games. I suspect that includes changing skin tone.
Not founded on anything, but I hope that Myr can be like greenish or whitish as well as blue. I'm hoping for any sort of cool hues. Additionally, I'd like it if Dwarves (as Tiberius mentioned) can be different colors. They were made of Coldark steel, which...unfortunately might just be one color, but here's to hoping! Also, since Archai are elemental-based, I think it'd be cool if they had different ethereal options for skin colors.
I don't personally have an issue with blue Dwarves, but I too would hope that blue doesn't end up being the standard hue for all three races, just for variety's sake. Some other color choices for any or all of them would be cool in my book. Also, on a very loosely related note, should every Archai have to pick an element to be integrated into their skin? I think "non-elemental striations" should be an option in character creation, just for those times when you don't really want your toon to have an elemental theme. :P
There are many different shades of blue, in varying saturations and undertones. Lots of room for variety. I agree with Temmi regarding Myr - no reason for them to be restricted to blue. Greens, whites, greys would all work. Archai I am hoping very much to not only be able to edit skin tone but edit the color (separate from skin) and style of their glowing power lines.
Character creation is honestly one of the things I am most itching to get my hands on and generally critique/provide feedback on. Making a character one can enjoy/connect with is so critical!
My guess is Dwarves will have a variation of black to white to blue. Archai will have a wide range based on elemental color variations where blue just happens to be one. Dark Myr are the 'Dark Elves' of this game when likened to Everquest but my guess is they will have a wide range of color variations as well, possibly more so than Dwarf but not as much as Archai. That's it, 3 races of 9 where they have the possibility of a blue variation. I was worried about this at one point but after looking further into it, I was rest assured it won't be that much of an issue.
I plan to play Human though but if they have an option to be blue, only then will I then think that there was an odd focus within VR towards this specific color. I do plan on blue eyes though, but that doesn't count.

I hope VR is not trying to introduce American politics into the game. Please don't try to be politically correct by balancing the number of races that are in a blue state against those that are more flushed and are in a red state.
I cant imagine how they would introduce anything political into a game that has absolutely nothing to do with politics. It's about backstory of the races, not politics.
