Buff Stacking

    If I recall correctly in EQ:

    Buffs of the same name/line of buffs didn't stack. 

    Different class buffs I think did stack. 

    Dots and Hots from the same class and different classes stacked.

    How do buffs, dots, and hots stack in Pantheon?

    I remember Necro DoTs not stacking (2 necros casting the exact same dot spell)? I dunno, it's been so long.

    I hope in Pantheon DoTs do stack. I remember it being a pain grouping with other necros balancing out which spell you could or could not cast. If the mob already had Vampiric Curse on it, then you just wasted all that Mana and lost out on the life Regen.

    Dots definitely stacked up to a point, but I don't recall dot stacking notifications until the titanium client. Even then they were limited. It's an interesting obstacle to game design. 

     

    edit: actually i take that back, there may indeed have been a point where they did not stack early on. 

     

    Same class hots never stacked, ever.

    Hmmm.  Maybe same class hots didn't stack.  I thought they worked the same as dots, that you couldn't stack your own dots/hots, but different players of the same class could stack them.

    Different players should be able to cast the same DoTs and HoTs on mobs/players. As for buffs... I think that would have to be on case-by-case basis for balance.
