What level of AI can we expect from NPC, will there be another level of AI that NPC will react to PCs besides the base factions? If we are rude to an NPC will he remember that we were rude to him not talk to us? Or if we help an NPC on the road from a goblin attack and run into the NPC in a town down the road he will have a special quest for us? The Perception system seems to be a step in this direction which sounds good.
If the players manage to take out an entire village of goblins and their leader will the globlins scatter and eventually have different monsters replace them? Or how about killing of a gnoll cave and now the cave is filled with all sorts of nasty insects and spiders or undead.

NPC Dispositions and Behaviors
An area we have not seen much innovation in MMORPGs, almost since their inception, is the area of NPC AI. What if certain enemies had different “dispositions” that had to be discovered by the player? Many NPCs in Pantheon will have advanced behaviors, like the propensity to flee if possible, or to stand and fight to the end. Some NPCs will be inclined to help other NPCs in the area, while some will not. Some will target certain classes within the group that is attacking them. NPC’s movement speeds may vary if they feel they are outmatched. While it is too early to go into a lot of detail, some of the different dispositions we are working on include: the Alarmist, the Bully, the Craven, the Opportunist, the Protector, and the Strategist.
They can make AI extremely smart and responsive to play, but lets be honest, this isn't want modern gamers want, they whine over the simplist requirement of action/consequence, if most players had to deal with the realism of AI being of such an action/consequence nature, they would be throwing tantrums left and right.
There is a reason RMT is so popular and it isn't because the majority of the player bases is seeking honest play. While there is a niche base who wants responsible play in games, most love, adore and desire the concept of cheating to excel. You make a game with actual consequence, and you will kill off the mainstream base. That is fine by me, then we go back to PC gaming before the console mainstream generation took it over.

It's been said more than once that this game is not geared toward the modern, mainstream base, but toward the 'forgotten' group of gamers who actually like to immerse themselves into the game. I doubt peope who have the 'I want it my way and I want it now' crowd will pay for that, which, for us, is a good thing.

Yeah that's diffently a nice start. I was really looking forward to EQNext and Storybricks and was hoping they can come close to that level AI and player impact. imagine going up to the NPC that has your ultimate ability and doing a /rude gesture at him and now he won't give it to you :P
