Speak (type). "Outloud". In game. If another character is infront of you, acknowledge them and say hello. Chances are they already said hello and you are not responding, allowing them to make negative snap-judgments on you, reputationally speaking.
Discord is not needed all the time. Besides, type chat helps prevent interuptions and there is no question as to what needs to be done or who said what, when, if conversation is texted.
- side note, make statements, dont ask passive-aggressive questions that are meant to be statements.
Let your typing skills improve from fun.
None of this whisper or tell nonsense. Whispering and tells are for private and secret things.

Go in with an open mind, leaving all the baggage from other games at the door. This is Pantheon, not X or Y or Z so take it all in the context of this game, not any other game.
Remember to have fun.
Don't let anyone else tell you what the right or wrong way to play your class is.
Don't worry about keeping up with everyone else.
Never be afraid to ask for help.
Hold out for the guild that really matches what you want out of the game.
