Seriously though, any thoughts? The lore is there. Design and dev of a TCG would take almost no one from the DevTeam... besides, we gotta have SOMETHING to do during those downtimes at the Las Vegas Fan Faire... besides consuming mass quantities of life-sustaining beverages...
I have spent way too much money to admit to on Star Trek TCG. I regret nothing! I'd be all in on this, but it would be cool if there was a physical card format, rather than online card game only (I also spent money on EQ2's online card game). EQ2 closed down its servers and I feel cheated out of money because of it. While I would be ok with an online TCG, physical cards would be AWESOME! edit: also, the more I think about this, could we even get the TCG before launch? Would be a great waste of time for me and others, and revenue source for VR
I think they are doing well

Interesting Grim. Are you a fan of Hearthstone? I am not. If they cannot sell me a single card, it is of my most humble opinion that they do not own the market. I agree they are doing pretty well, but I think this may be due to a lack of competition. Someone else was king before Hearthstone. Someone else will be king eventually. I enjoyed Vanguard Diplo. I also really enjoyed the EQ TCG. I wish there was some way to report number of games played, cards owned, etc. I had thousands of cards. MtG was amazing. For the first few years. Now I think it suffers from bloat. I think it needs to be reinvented.
I play Elder Scrolls Legends, mostly because i know the lore so well it makes it more fun to play. It is my change of pace non-twitch game. I tried Hearthstone and found it anoying.

I agree entirely that we do not need any battle royale or card game in Pantheon. Though I do not agree that anyone owns the market, and I agree far less that they always will.
I'm an absolute sucker for card games, have been all my life.
If there was a Pantheon TCG (physical or digital), I would be all over it from day one.
The chances however, I'd wager are slim to none.

If Pantheon is the hit we all think it will be, then I would imagine a TCG would come sometime thereafter as its a good additional revenue stream and can create even more buzz for the game.
I would play it obviously. But making that would almost assuredly pull at least some aspect of VR away from developing the game, so at this point, it's not worth it. Once the game is already launched, and there's many, many more people interested in the game, then maybe it would be worth considering.
If it's a true physical version of a TCG the most likely thing would be to contract it out to someone that actually does this type of thing. It wouldn't take anyone from the Dev Team with the exception of the lore master and even then it would be little more than a few emails.

havent enjoyed Haearthstone since its second exspansion, but because of the players, not the game.
I'm a purist or eltieist dont know, i never copy decks from online and i never make a gimmick deck or rely on luck to win.
Because of this i maxxed at rank 10 and not cant get passed rank 15 as people just seem to draw every card they need, 100% of the time.
Its always the same shitty decks that must be executed perfectly or they lose, 100% luck.
