If I do pvp, probably Paladin...they are always hard to kill everytime they are in a pvp game.

Well since DL will be about dealing dmg, gaining life, and avoiding cc and magic dmg should be perfect for pvp.

    Knight’s Persuasion
You leverage your charismatic presence to persuade a target Humanoid to lay down their arms for the sake of peace. If successful, immediately ends combat and makes target Humanoid friendly towards you for a limited time. The higher your Charisma, the more likely a successful persuasion will occur. (Uses Wrath. If successful, restores the Wrath used and generates 1 Reckoning Point)

Good for 2 on 1s. I think it is a small charm that can change the tide of getting ganked.

    Fiery Aegis
You send a wall of celestial flame rushing forward, purging you of all Poison and Disease effects and knocking down all enemies in its path up to X meters. (Generates Wrath)

Also pretty good cc and debuff remover.

    Golden Aegis
You consolidate celestial light around you into a sheer barrier, making you invulnerable to all damage for a short time. (Uses 1 Reckoning Point)

Your bubble pretty much. Standard for paladins and allows you to heal.

    Edict of Celestial Authority
You recite a sacred word of power that stuns your enemy for a short duration. This ability cannot be resisted unless target is immune to stun.

    A can't be resisted stun..also good.

And others that I won't list, but you get the point. They are going to be tough to kill.

I would say no, they have 2 cc abilities, but a few that break cc if on them.

    Grip of Torment

Infiltrate your enemy's essence and turn it against them, obstructing any healing from benefiting that enemy for the duration of the effect. (Uses Essence)

    Deafening Whisper

You bombard your opponents imagination with frightening possibilities, silencing them for a short time. (Uses Essence)

    Dark Revenge

Passive Ability. After being critically hit, your next attack will restore your health by X% of the damage you deal.

    Leaden Blood

You cause your enemy's essence to grow thick and heavy, weighing them to the ground and preventing movement. (Uses Essence)

    Essence Thief

Exchange your depleted essence for the fresh essence of an enemy within X meters, filling your Essence Vial to maximum and switching physical locations with them. The shock of this exchange of essence will affect your enemy in different ways based on their Entity Type (Humanoid, Animal, Insect, Incorporeal, etc.)

Im extremely hopeful for this ability, but im wondering what it does when you trade places with them.

the dl and paladin function radically different(a good thing).  dl: soft cc, healing debuff, interrupt, essence thief (im on the same boat as you. it looks interesting)  paladin: hard cc, self utility, looks like you going to counter dot classes?

Well Paladins tend to outlast and eventually kill other tanks. EQ paladins could counter almost everything because they had root...soo casters were at a disadvantage. They also had flash of light to blind people and was just very good all around. So yeah. This time around they don't have those...which makes me sad, but I would say if they have a gap closer then a paladin can probably kill any class.

I mean the irresitable stun is by far the most dangerous spell in PVP because depending on cool down timer, along with the two knock backs they get...which interupt I assume...you could possibly stun lock. And since they are focusing on PVE and not PVP balance they might be dangerous..atleast in the beginning.

On the off chance I do engage in PvP I will choose whichever class is OP that month because if there is any PvP focus at all the effort to try and balance them will always produce a FotM.  I don't much care what class or archetype it is.  I'll level them all if that's what it takes.  I'm a completionist so that will probably happen eventually anyway even if there is no PvP in the game.

It's still too early to tell, but I've typically gone with the Paladin as my main for EQ and Vanguard PvP.  If it has a similar playstyle I'll likely stick with it, it really just depends on how the game unfolds though.

Druid will be my main for everything.

70%+ run speed (in and out of combat)

    Dmg absorb shields and heals

    One prevent death skill

Most animals will not attack me (passive lather in the game)

    Roots

    Dot’s

And there is so much more hue hue hue.

Ohh I will play with all the gankers und if they try to kill me I run away and kite them.

It's fun to speculate. DL obviously looks good. Still, abilities are actively being modified for PVE. There is an extremely high chance that what is currently on the website is not currently what is in game. And on top of that we have no idea how/if certain abilities will be modified for PVP. Also, old man yells at cloud.

Too soon to choose but a healing class - ideally one with good area or group healing so I can stay in a central place and not move around constantly.

I tend to be slow and clumsy - one on one I am a walking ATM handing out pvp currency to anyone that notices me I am that easy to kill.

I embrace the word carebear whether intended originally as an insult or not (and it was but the meaning of words evolve). I would rather heal my teammates than actually *kill* anyone. Good pvp rewards healers and tanks not just the dps classes that more often land the killing blow.

Dark Ages of Camelot was a premier pvp game for its time. I spent three years on the "carebear" server. Then I spent a year on the normal servers. Always as healers on the normal servers.

If I have to PvP, I will play a healer first. It all depends on what the guild would like to do.

healing is going to be pretty interesting for pvp again now that resource management and decision making will be more taxing
