Not really sure if they'll be hunched or not but that'd be good if they had a unique posture.  I'm behind on how the latest version of them look but I know I'll be creating one.  And as far as the comparison sketch above I think I like v1 the best.  They kind of look like a mix between undead and skeletal elves.  I like how the skin is so stretched over the jawline that it looks ready to tear through.

Also, is there any footage out there of the devs controlling one in a stream?

I was 100% going ogre until the new skar design, now I'm torn.

However the skar passives are reeeeaaally bad except the 20% fear resist.

Until they change that it looks like a race you go as an alt or for the love of the design / starting zones and such.

I like the skar looks in general but their hair seams out of place. I'd imagine them bald or having horns of some time.

It is tempting to compare the Skar to the Zabrak (who most associate with Darth Maul) and expect nothing soft about their features. The bony facial protrustions also bring to mind another race from the Star Wars universe, the Sanyassan, best know from Ewoks: The Battle For Endor. In any case, it seems reasonable to expect that a bald option would be available at character creation. Even so, the hairstyle makes a lot of sense in real world terms at least.

    dreadlocks (n.)
"rope-like strands of hair formed by matting or braiding," 1960, from dread (adj.) + locks (see lock (n.2)). The style is said to be based on that of East African warriors. So called from the dread they presumably aroused in beholders, but Rastafarian dread (1974) also has a sense of "fear of the Lord," expressed in part as alienation from contemporary society.

The original Skar model and artwork made me instantly want to play one (and being one of the few monk races).  With the update, I've tried warming up to them, but I do not think I have and I may play a different race.  (It also would depend on if I am playing a Monk or end up playing a Dire Lord or other class at the start).  I played Iksar Monk on my Everquest main and this feels at home, but not so much with the aesthetic right now, it's weird.

What aesthetic seems to be offputting to you?  Is the original artwork you're talking about the one where they had the different kind of legs?

Yes, they seem mostly the same aside from the leg change and they lost their noses.

I love the predator vibe from the Skar and can't wait to see the animations.
