Receiving Notification When Some Replies

    Greetings,

Is there a way to set the forum default to NOT send email notifications to you when someone replies to a post you've contributed to?  I know you can UNcheck the box for that post but it I have not found a way to do that when replying on a mobile device.  Plus I have been guilty of replying too quickly and not unchecking the box.  I have also not found a way to undo that mistake once you've posted.  Everytime I reply to a post and forget to uncheck, I get hundreds of emails for every reply thereafter.  It's quite frustrating.  Plus when a post finally dies and no more emails come, somebody will necro-reply starting the whole process over.

It seems like there should be an option in your profile to have it default the way you like - get notifications or not - and then you can change it to the other way on an individual post if you so desire.  Or at a minimum, have there be a link in the emails you do receive to unsubscribe from receiving notifications for just that thread.

If there's already a way to solve this could someone please enlighten me.  Thanks so much.

    Hello,

I don't think I get emails for any messages, only a notification in the easy to miss dashboard of the forum. The box itself is half the time checked, half the time unchecked, but for my Smartphone I'm using the defaut computer view as it provides way more information than the smartphone version (and control). I do not know why I'm not getting emails (hopefully) and why you do. I don't think I forgot or avoided entering my email at creation.

I think it would be fine if we could get a  list of all topics followed, allowing to uncheck there every topic accidentaly checked for notifications. However, I don't think the forum is going to chance or add any option, and given the very few/poor possibilities in this one, I will try to navigate in the few options to find a solution for you but I doubt I will come with a solution...

Thanks for your reply.  I'm not refering to the option to "Watch Topic" located in the upper right corner of the screen when viewing a thread on a PCs web browser.  My issue seems to stem with the "Send me notifications when other members reply to this topic." located right below the "Quick Reply" window.  What I would like to see is for the forum/browser to either remember the last state (i.e. checked or unchecked) and the next time I visit the forums it is in that styate.  OR, better yet, have a way to set, or disable this feature in the profile or setting for each user.  Further, when I view the forums using Chrome on my iPhone, I do not get the option at the time I am replying to uncheck the box.  It's simply not there but I still get an email each and every time someone replies to that same thread.  I just find it to be a nuissance.

That was what I was talking about, the send me notification is either checked or unchecked depending of the weather and maybe if I hit tab by accident. But it never sent me any email...

It's strange you don't get the box when on your smartphone, are you using the "show computer version" in your browser + the "FULL SITE" link at the bottom of the forum ?

For me, it seems it is always checked to send the emails by default for each new thread I view.  Returning to that thread later it will retain the way it was set from the previous time I viewed that thread.  I just checked the forums on my phone again and noticed the "Full Site" link at the bottom of the page.  Once clicked I do get the option to uncheck the box so that helps a bit but seriously, there should be a way to set it to unchecked for all threads on the forum by default and then check it for the ones you do want to be notified about.  I can't be the only one who is annoyed by this "feature", can I?
