I know you guys are very busy with the game and I love where its going and I also want it out as quickly as possible (and join in the testing too), but I do have one request. The web site needs a little loving. A few new screen shots, concept art and some new videos would be nice. Maybe a little bit more on the other class descriptions, too.
It would be worth taking the time (imho) to do this, as casual viewers to the site may get the impression that the game is not as far along as it actually is, unless they read the Latest News of course. But they might not get there if they just look at the few screen shots that are available.
I want you to show off the beautiful images I have seen in the last couple of streams (cant wait for the next one).
Any chance? Please?
First I must admit that you are 100% right with your request and your arguing for new content on this page, but they stated earlier, that they won't no longer update the old page, because a new page is in the works.
They are working on this new page a long long time, and I'm pretty sure, they just wait for some milestone (maybe start of alpha) to open the new page (for everyone). I'm very sure that there is already more information on this new page than on the old one and I strongly believe once the new page is up, they will speed up with updates for it.
So I one sentence, they stated, that the old page will not be updated any more, we know they are working on the new page, but we don't know when it is release, but once it is we should get a lot more nice pictures, texts, etc.
I like the looks of this site well enough for present purposes, though a new and improved one will be good.
If the new one may not be out for 6 months and a day's work would make this one more appealing to casual visitors it may be worth it - VR needs to balance the benefits of improving a temporary site versus the costs. As I am certain they have.
I remember fairly recently checking out another game in development (something I do now and then because I would love something new to play while waiting for Pantheon). Its official site was awful - no developer threads and almost no member threads for many months. Later I found that it had a more current site on Steam but it was an act of marketing idiocy to leave the OFFICIAL site looking as if the game was dead and abandonned. So as a totally unnecessary reminder - when the new site comes out, if the old one is still accessable at all put a prominent notice on it that it has been superseded and a link to the new site.
As Landbert mentioned, a new website is already in the works as has been for a while. Officially, the ETA is "Soon." There are just a few more eCommerce kinks in the backend that need to be worked out to make sure all the data will transfer over correctly and literally as soon as that is done, they'll launch the new website. I don't expect to even be given much heads up. Once they get the green light, we may just log on one day to an unexpectedly new website. They're supposedly getting close. So yeah that's why there's no point in updating the current one because it would just be wasted effort. I'm sure it'll be worth the wait :)
