Why did the races come to Terminus?

I know it’s a bit early for all the speculation but when reading the Lore and following the timeline of when all the races come to Nhystyrrok or Terminus.

Why? Where the planets of the respective races destroyed? Where these colonizing expeditions?

    Lore description:

But I saw a dreadful power spread its wings over the cosmos, and it pierced my faith in the past. I stared into the eyeless face of an eclipse as it bore down upon my world, crowned in the dust of those it had already turned to nothing. I have felt the hands of my pantheon torn in two, witnessed that cosmic power grip the very god I worshipped with indifference, withering him to a dead husk. The ground beneath my feet splintered as my own planet's invincible beauty was crushed by an unseen hand, only a fragment of my people spared. I was blind with fear, I called the Sun dead. I believed in nothing

The dragons seem to have immense power to deal this sort of destruction on a planetary scale or is it something far worse? What was this? Even the Ginto race was afraid of it. The Reignborn command power on a scale none of the races could defeat so it begs the question what are the races of Terminus dealing with.

    More Lore questions:

Why is still a mystery, but some time shortly before the First Era of Collisions (as they are oft called, though few were especially violent), the Reignborn left their lands of sovereignty, or at least appeared to. In turn, all of Dragonkind similarly deferred their territories, roosts and dwellings, down even to the common spawn. This is verified by credible native peoples such as the Tholen of Itholis and the Elvonnen Giants of what is now Kingsreach. The Tholen began a new calendar to correspond with this strange new behavior, the Ithosbrun Hjilen, abbreviated as “IH”.

Does the story go far deeper than the Dragons and why the form of hospitality of sorts?

This is all speculation but the questions still is why?

Before we can answer this question, maybe we'll need to know more about the dragon accord.

The dragons were in a way masters of terminus, so why they disappeared ? Why they let the others races take control ? Why the Dragonking fought against the ravaging lord letting the Six win the deicide war ?

Who brings the Warwizzards, the gods ? do they have a plan for the different races ? why a gnome is smarter than an ogre ? hmm maybe not this one.

I can't wait to have more lore and story from the devs :)

You guys have such great questions.

Let the Why lead you to Wonder.

But in all reality I can't share that information now, of course. So speculate on!

Very good question Ox. Now you have me thinking again. I just got comfortable not having all the answers.... Dang.

...and why do Dwarves love beer so much?

"Who cares..." Klumpedge bellows as he raises another frothy mug.

I'll repost a quick summary of what *I* think happened:

The various gods had their own races in their own worlds.  Something was happening and they were all in danger.  So each of the gods wanted to save their races.  The planet now known as Terminus was the dragons world.  The gods made a pact with the dragons to let them use their planet as a sort of sanctuary where their races could all rebuild.

So the gods realized their worlds are all in mortal danger and their races will die out - possibly some cataclysm in the universe.    They scooped up a population of these and put them in a safe place (like an animal sanctuary) to rebuild their population and survive the cataclysm.

They made a deal with the dragons to "rent" their safe world.  The dragons didn't trust losing their world and part of the deal was that the other gods would never intervene with the world so they established the celestial boundary.

When one of them broke the agreement and went down to the world and started the war, the other gods realized that they have to also cross over to kill him.  Basically they had to stop him because he violated the accord.  When the dragon god saw the warwizards crossing the boundary he thought it was a breach  and attacked, however it was determined by their counselor that it was not and that they were simply stopping a breach.  Its like a trespasser whose friends go in to pull him out of the building - yes they trespassed also but only temporarily and only to get him to stop.

So, now order is restored and the celestial boundary has been widened and strengthened to prevent another crossing.  Now no communication goes back and forth either, so the races feel alone.

Meanwhile, the dragons are simply waiting for the lease to expire so they can have their planet back and cash in on their reward which might be ultimate dominance of the universe over the other gods.

"I have no answers. I know the land and not the mind of immortals", Chen said to his companions. His gaze searching the devastated kingdom, eyes looking upon the raw power of gods and scales, but not comprehending. His ears numb from the noise of destruction, his mind reeling from the chaos that flooded his being. Slowly he rose, tearing his gaze from the hatred of the unknowable. He simply said, “We have to get clear. Climb higher!”.

They moved as one, heads hung in pain for what was lost. Tears welling, burning their dust filled eyes and blurring their sight. With fear squeezing their hearts, they climbed the barren rock face. Searching for hand holds, trying to clamber their path away from the destruction below. Each keeping thougths to themselves. No sobs, no words, just their silence embracing those few.

Thus, my First Father was made.

    Excerpt from Chenzeme’s Chronicle.

But I saw a dreadful power spread its wings over the cosmos, and it pierced my faith in the past. I stared into the eyeless face of an eclipse as it bore down upon my world, crowned in the dust of those it had already turned to nothing.

Something huge, maybe even causing an actual eclipse (rather than just a poetic description).

I was blind with fear, I called the Sun dead. I believed in nothing.

Maybe this re-enforces an eclipsed sun by something huge and awe-inspiring.

Yet nothing did not claim me. This world is filled with those it did not claim, preserved by an unseen hand, perhaps at great risk. Though I have no evidence of it…

Though lain in a bed of thorns, this world is a cradle of infant hope for we old orphans.

I would suggest that gods, dragons or something else decided to clean the slate and start afresh. Terminus is a kind of reboot, a Noah’s ark or indeed, an experiment; maybe terminus is a petri dish and we are the cultured cells. Just a fancy. :-)

"  -end quote    I kind of like that explanation.   Been trying to read the lore,  but I tend to get a little lost.    Not going to give up though. :)

When the king dragon was killing everyone including the races armies. The being that showed up and talked the dragon down... I think he is responsible for bringing the races. Just my 2 cents.
