I thought I remember seeing/hearing something about a secret class not yet revealed? I could be wrong.. If there is, I'd LOVE to make a suggestion.
I'm at work and am watching a anime movie of Dr.Strange when I got this idea. I saw a girl weilding a piece of cloth like a drape.. How awesome would it be to have a class that could make many different items throughout the world into a weapon, glowing in magic. Or perhaps this would fall under the enchanter class, though I'd like to see this more of a melee class- maybe a hybrid rogue(or monk)/enchanter!??!! It'd be a class that could pick up a branch, piece of cloth, a rusted pipe, rusted sword, a leather/cloth belt, a bone off a skeleton, the tusk of a boar, and then weaponize the items, glowing in an eternal light. However, like most spells- they all wear off resulting in the class needing to collect items and keeping them stocked up in their inventory like a ranger would arrows. And isn't it about time a game impliments the smoke bomb you throw on the ground and dissappear ? I mean come on, who hasn't had the dream of being able to do that in RL, a modern game should have this by now- an updated version of shadow step but teleports you more than 5'.
I do like an idea I once saw in City of Heroes ....
They had a 'class' that was locked until you got a character to max level, at which point you could start a new char with this class available. In Pantheon terms (since i seem to recall mention of a retire/progeny type concept) It could be implemented as a Class which can only be chosen if you retire a char, then pick it as a class for that char's progeny. These could merely be 'specialised' versions of 'standard' classes or unique unrelated classes. The metric for getting the new class unlocked need not be attaining a certain level, though (but could be a short-cut for some quests).
Eg
Rogue -> unlockable class -> quest driven -> Assassin
Any Class -> unlockable class -> special quest -> Bard
Wizard OR DeathKnight-> unlockable class -> undead quest -> Necro
Necro -> epic Class -> Epic quest -> Lich Class
These could be tailored as just 'flavours' of main Classes (almost identical as Main Class, but with minor tweaks) for the most part, with some being a much bigger change or even unique class only available for those who undertake the epic class quest and meet all the requirements.
This *might* also be a neat way to introduce new classes without spawning a whole gazillion level 1 'beastmasters' as soon as this class is introduced! Instead, play your main, find the Lore hints, follow the quest hints, find the reclusive BeastMaster ... find a way to get him to promise to teach your son/daughter/cousin/whatever ... etc
EDIT: for formatting as I am cack-handed it seems!
