Melee damage type resistance for mobs?

It would be cool to see something like this implemented as it would encourage skilling in different weapons types. There are the general spell resistances so why not melee?

One example I can give (from a DnD PoV) is skeletons. Skeletons in DnD have resistance to slashing but take more damage from blunt weapons. Obviously fleshy creatures this wouldn't apply so much but this would give a unique twist on certain mobs. Earth elementals... Metal type creatures(Golems?)... Dragons... etc. etc.

    Thoughts?

I'm pretty sure EQ had this feature, but regardless, in my opinion it's a must! IT really does add flavour to the game - and while annoying to the frontline melee characters, does make them change their tactics or skill up in other areas.

Ya i mean the good players skill up all their melee weapons but end up only using 2 or 3. Would be nice to have a reason to switch to a different type.

If you watch The Video (tm), you will see that something like this may already be in. There are messages in the chat box that the weapon isn't fully effective against a mob (was a wraith or skelly, I think).
