I'm wondering if it would be cool to have faction status be very vague or just plain hidden to the player.
After all you wouldn't really know just by looking how a merchant regards you or if that camp in the woods is friendly or hostile.
Maybe its not such a good idea but it seems like it could add some mystery to the world.
What do you all think about factions and how they are presented to the players ?
Personally I'm hoping for some really complex factions that are not just cut and dry. Some real grey areas where killing the wrong NPC's could result in interesting changes in gameplay.

I would like to see that, but I think it would make a working /con system very difficult. Maybe this is an area of the game where less realism is better. But perhaps something like this could be applied to players instead? An NPC shouldn't always be able to "know" my faction. Especially if my character is disguised through cloth or spell. This could probably open up a lot of fun ways to get around in the world.
Hi Angrykiz, We already have a few really good threads and polls on factions mate, please try and use the search function and continue the existing discussions before creating a new thread, it makes it a lot easier for people to join in and share idea's if the threads are consolidated and kept to a few really good ones, rather than a ton of them spread out with limited replies.
