  As someone who backed the game for 1k back in the day and is a pre-alpha supporter... is my steam account automatically linked to my Pantheon account or is that something I have to do manually. When I log in via Steam it just logs in without asking me for log in info like PA did

  So I'm not sure what exactly you wish to know.

  Logging into the Game is not interchangeable, you have to use steam to log into a game account bought from steam. Logging into a game account bought from VR has to be done with the VR launcher. VR wanted to get them linked, but it turns out to have more tech difficulties than they expected.

  Can you be more exact about what is happening that you don't expect?

  You acutally answered my question. 

  Where do I get the VR launcher? Do I use the pre-alpha one that I already have or is there a new version

  There was no new one released for EA.

  The current launcher is v.184
