Class Specific armor quest

I'm hoping that eventually we will have a class specific quest line that gives each class its own set of armor with stats set just for that class at some level

main reason im hoping for this is the quest line we had in EQ for rangers that gave us our IVY ETCHED armor which i wore forever since it looked so cool

If done right could be a good idea, but how to bring into game with out trivilizing the other drops... As for the EQ referance, it was only good for some classes for others by the time they could get it, it was mostly usless for the effort required for most. The Shadow knight and Shaman are the only other class armor Quests i remember helping with or doing and those 2 for the Iksar were better tuned for the level attanable. Pretty sure I did do on my rogue but didnt keep it for long, but that was so long ago and he was always raid geared from b4 kunark onwards so that could sqew my view a little.

it would prob need to be a higher level quest line, say starting at level 40 and every end quest update for each piece of gear would be a mob that needs a grp to complete

and ya i know the gear would prob be trivialized by raid gear but for my ranger in eq i mainly kept it for cosmetic because it looked so cool...well cool with eq graphics

I certainly hope that there are viable class or race specific armor quests in game, at least for Warrior, Paladin and Dire Lord because of the gear dependencies involved with tanking that other classes simply do not have.

I don't have a problem with it , if the itemization equals risk vs reward.

The items can be slightly better then standard group based gear , but require components or updates off major named targets inside of multiple dungeons.

This allows raid gear or itemization that require multiple groups still breathing room in the progression sense , that or it becomes a "filler" raid slot or equal to entry level raid itemization ... depending on how the raid content is designed ie progressive raid based encounters and matching itemization for harder encounters.

If that is the case in the general design , then I think its balanced.

Maybe they'll add a cosmetic tab someday so you can wear the best armor yet have the look you want.

People are always worried about trivializing something with something else.  None of the quests for armor I ever did trivialized anything.  Raid gear is always the best, crafted is decent, and drops other than raids are meh.  Give people something to strive for that does not require a poop sock and raiding 15 hours a day.
